Audio from the Wii U
I have a TV which is a panel only (no speakers) & I currently get sound from my PS3, Sky HD & Apple TV using optical connections to my bluray/amp all in one unit.
The amp unit doesn't allow HDMI sound & I notice the Wii U only comes with a HDMI cable. Is there any way I can get the picture to go through my TV using HDMI & get the audio using either optical or the red/white connectors? |

Only if your TV has audio out connections to pass through the sound from HDMI.
Most TVs however only passthrough 2 channel sound so 5.1 surround would be a no no. The good news though is that I'm pretty sure you may be able to use a Wii component cable to connect to the TV as the WiiU also has the standard Wii connection too so you will be able to use the audio cables from that. |

Thanks. It looks like the component cable will be the way I'll need to go
