Seeing her doing her album at the same time in the VT ? Or Cheryl in the audience ? Was her public favour overestimated beforehand ?

We don't actually have any information about how she polled in the first four eliminations. As there was nobody ahead or directly behind of her in the dance-off, she could have come anywhere. No reason to think her vote has 'collapsed'.

It's got nothing to do with her album. In the past it has showed actors working on set so that's really no different.
I think it was Cheryl Cole sitting in the audience that put people off.

I certainly wasnt overestimating it, there's no evidence whatsoever that she's been popular at all. She's always been in the top half of the leaderboard.

Clearly those who were getting lower votes than her are now mostly out - she had to have basically come last in the vote yesterday. None of that means she was ever among the most popular.

No evidence it has 'collapsed' it might have been lowish all along

It was rather surprising though - she has been consistently good and girl/boy band singers usually do quite well.

Either

People thought she was safe and thought no reason to vote for her

She is usually highish in the votes but other people got more votes then her yesterday.... I mean tonight

She has always be low in the public vote

Her fans were busy and didn't have enough time to vote in the 30 mins

I'd go with number 3.

I agree. If you check the YouTube stats, she was never really as popular as many had assumed. Same for Nicky.

Very true. Will have to get voting next week.

I wouldn't read too much into it tbh. It's normally around this point in the series we get 'shock' contestants in the bottom two.

People tend to vote for the real stand out performances, the couple they like that they feel is in danger or the couple they feel has been harshly judged. A solid performance, good comments and being upper-mid table is a dangerous position.

Kimberley being in the bottom two will mobilize her voters for next week, even if she has a shocker next time out she won't be in the bottom two again.

BIB this would be my guess - I assumed she would be safe being second on the leader board

i am a Kim' fan and Michael's fan so as kim was so high on leader board i'd rather vote for michael so it could be that people did the same or for other couples thinking she didnt need the votes - nothing to do with not liking her

Not happened to Denise, Dani or Louis though has it? Don't get me wrong, I like Kimberley and Pasha and want them to do well but I am starting to think there is more to this than her fans just thinking she was safe.

That said, last year it was Wembley week we had Holly Valance in the bottom 2. She was pre show favourite, and having failed to deliver anything outstanding was out by the Semi's... Maybe it's the same with Kimberly. We'd have our other pre-show favourite Louis/Harry, our dark horse, Dani/Chelsee, and the not really popular technical dancer, Denise/ Jason in the final... Not out of the question...

I think this year, we've seen a real mix of contestants in the bottom 2, with perhaps Richard leading the way with the most DO's.

this year has a very likeable set of contestants, so the vote might be a bit more spread out, rather than people voting for perhaps 1 celeb, they are spreading their votes, so it could be a "tighter" race than people think.

For me, it's the first time for around 5 years, I've sent votes for more than one person.

Do we have any information if the DO will continue all the way through the series, or will it be dropped, and come down to a straight vote between judges and GBP.

I'm in the it wasn't that high to begin with camp. I think she will get a vote bounce for a few weeks but it does suggest to me that she has a long term vote problem and I don't see her being in the final.

I dont think that Holly fell quite so far down the board that night I think she was in a more middling position if I remember correctly. Personally I find Kimberley less interesting than Holly both in personality and on the dance floor. I have no doubt that Kimberley will get a voting bounce but I think the writing is ont he wall for her.

Holly was in two bottom 2s - the first time she was 5th out of 8, then the next week she was 4th of 7.

What I really liked about Holly was her attitude to being in the bottom 2 - she didn't take it personally, and used it as a sign that she needed to pull her socks up, and over the next couple of weeks I think she produced her best dances of the series (foxtrot, paso doble). Kimberley seemed to take it as a real gut-punch so we'll see how she does. If she starts pulling out the sort of "people just thought I was safe! They love me really!" guff that so many of them have done over the years I might go off her.

A few reasons:

1. Of the better dancers, Louis was the one perceived to be in danger because of Craig's controversial 6 so viewers focused on saving him and forgot about Kim. In this way, "staged drama" is bad for the show as it can negatively affect other couples.

2. Some people were turned off by Kim plugging her solo album. I came across a few such people on Twitter. I'm not saying their reaction was right or wrong but there WAS a negative reaction to her VT.

3. Like me, others might have found Kim's dance very nice but not very memorable. I enjoyed it in the moment but it didn't stick in my mind.

4. It was a week when some of the more mediocre dancers (Nicky, Richard, Lisa, Victoria) were seen to improve and viewers chose to reward them with votes instead of someone like Kim who has been consistently good from the start.

5, Or, as others have suggested, Kim's vote has been quite low all along. Though my gut instinct tells me that's not the case.

How true is this? I'm pushed to think of a boy-bander before Harry; Emma Bunton and Rachel Stevens survived by being supported by the judges (justifiably for Rachel, maybe not so much for Emma) which kept them fairly safe near the top of the leader-board and sometimes with the dance-off safety net Kimberley has, while Michelle Williams struggled all the way.
