Feel no emotional connection with her when she dances. She comes across like so many other girlband types - somewhat difficult to warm to.

Judges have over-scored her massively too. The week before, dancing first, her salsa was completely average - very basic steps & some booty shaking. Deserved about a 24 but received a 33 - this should tell you all that she hasn't been getting a strong vote & the judges were already in 'keep Kimberley safe' mode.

The judges don't know the public vote. Very few people except those who absolutely need to do.

We find her quite hard to warm too, honestly don't know why.

What I really liked about Holly was her attitude to being in the bottom 2 - she didn't take it personally, and used it as a sign that she needed to pull her socks up, and over the next couple of weeks I think she produced her best dances of the series (foxtrot, paso doble). Kimberley seemed to take it as a real gut-punch so we'll see how she does. If she starts pulling out the sort of "people just thought I was safe! They love me really!" guff that so many of them have done over the years I might go off her.”

Looking at your stats though Holly was slightly below mid-table both times, so her dances weren't particularly setting the judges alight. The gut punch for Kimberley is that she was second on the leaderboard (out of ten) and that translates as ..'I came bottom in the public vote' and nobody would look happy if they thought that. Especially when there are some pretty bad dancers still left in the comp. Also with Holly, being Australian, she wouldn't have been sure about her fanbase here so maybe she wasn't surprised.

She was OK.
But she isn't as good as her marks suggest so people are going to try to correct that injustice PLUS the promotion of her choons didn't endear her to some of us.

In the early stages of the competition there probably aren't a lot of votes being cast anyway, and most of those are probably going to celebrities thought to be in trouble. Now the charity link's gone there's no incentive to vote for those high on the leader board early on - they'd always be saved in the dance-off anyway. The danger is that if say Michael and Nicky are picking most of the votes, that's totally going to skew the overall results. To stay out of the dance-off Michael had to finish fourth at worst in the public vote. The way things finished, another one of the top five dancers must have ended up in the bottom three overall, and that's assuming that Fern was near the bottom of the public vote.

The motto is, if you want someone to stay in, you have to vote for them, We'll soon be at the stage where two of the judges' favourites will be dancing off against each other.

If the producers have a ratings-based agenda, then I would have thought that they would subtly indicate to the judges to favourably mark certain people.

Well I can't see Kimberley being in the dance off for the next few weeks.

In the no doubt lengthy list of the judges heinous scoring crimes .. Kimberley is one of the least offenders.

I thought Kimberley danced well, I just think it may have got forgotten, the Vieneese Waltz is quiet and calm, it doesn't have the same intensity as some of the other dances.

Also, there were 2 ties in the leaderboard, so this can help the bottom couples climb the leaderboard and avoid the dance off.

How do we know her vote collapsed?

For all we know, Fern could have been getting higher amounts of votes than her all this time. Why does everyone assume that she's high in the voting?

If you read this thread, a lot of people definitely do not assume that!

If you really want to believe that, feel free - but the events of SCD6 made it very clear that there was collusion between the judges and the producers to mark certain celebs more favourably than others ...

I must confess I was was surprised at first to see Kimberley in the bottom two - given that she was joint second on the leader board ... however, this is exactly what happened with Rachel Stevens (and she was technically superior to Kimberley).

At the end of the day, SCD isn't about who's technically superior - it's about showing an improvement at dancing combined with a personality the public warm to ... and, if Saturday is anything to go by, it would appear that the latter is where Kimberley is falling down.

I'm no great fan of hers - don't have strong feelings one way or the other, TBH - but I do hope we don't have a return to the judges/producers using the dance-off to protect their favourites. It robs the dance-off of any genuine drama (Fern must have known her fate before she even performed again) and also means that contestants who find no favour with the public can end up in the final (and yes, Lisa Snowdon, I mean YOU) ... and what is the point of that?

Why would cheryl in the audience put people off?

I don't think she was ever high in the vote in the first place. And we have a history of bland girlband types not doing well, honourable exception being Alesha, who was a natural showman and had an outgoing personality.

Kim has been doing a lot of self-promoting this week. The Girls Aloud tour, constantly mentioned even when she appeared on ITT. Her record, the friendship with Cheryl, the fact that Girls Aloud will be at Wembly etc. I think a lot of people are turned off by that. We all know the celebs do Strictly to either revive a flagging career or get a higher profile in the media. I doubt any of them really, honestly "want to learn to dance"!!!! I personally do not think that Girls Aloud can sing!! I heard them once on X Factor and was truly appalled by the whole routine! Cheryl is very beautiful and so is Kimberley but neither of them are great talents. Cherly is know more for X Factor and her marriage breakdown than as a performer. So many viewers think both Denise and Kimberley have been over-marked by the judges and so this is the reaction.

Could say the same about the judges gushing over Lisa, I don't get that either

Showgirl? No, makes her sound like a stripper, I don't know either, it just made me laugh when I saw it!

I think tis a combination of

'She wont need votes as she is popular'
'She wont need votes as shes near the top, lets vote for someone else'

and also

Viennese Waltz........which is kind of one of the more boring dances to watch for a lot of people.

She doesn't have an engaging personality so people dont warm to her. It was only a matter of time before she fell into bottom 2.

If celebs are getting scores higher than they deserve it usually
means they are not popular and the production team want them
kept in. Also celebs getting lower scores than they deserve sometimes means they are popular so they end up lower in the leader board to keep others safe. It also means they can emerge later in the competition. An attempt to make the result unpredictable.
