I'm not quite sure what age the larger fan base of Girls Aloud would be? They came on to the scene what, ? ten years ago? So if it is presumed that their fans were young then, then maybe now their fans are of teenage years and getting sloshed at University on a Saturday night. Certainly not too long ago when I was at Uni Girls Aloud songs were some of the best songs to dance to in a hammered manner on a Saturday night, plus a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday one too. At this time of the year we watched abit of Xfactor and Strictly on (some) Saturdays, and then usually head out as soon as the show was finished as that schedule slotted in well, so there weren't many occassions that we's stay planted the second the show finished to vote, unless it was a complete must (like in the later stages of the series). Sometimes we'd make joke votes too, but obv not me because I'm a dance lover.

I think there's a fairly good argument now that the Girls Aloud fans perhaps wouldn't have been committed to voting as we first thought. The question is - will they start doing so from now on?

Probably not.

The plug for her album on last week's show. It was tacky and obvious and implied she wasnt taking the series seriously.

Girls aloud are on next week so it would have been toe curling if she had gone this week.

Does anybody else find her boring? I was looking forward to her partnership with Pasha, but they seem so bland together and she seems to have no character. I'm not stating that I want them to be like Denise & James, but I just wish they would be a tad more effervescent; they seem to become lost in the group, and perhaps that's why Kimberley is not as popular as everyone thought she would be.

Going by twitter she is very popular with the dancers and the celebs. Maybe she needs to act up more like the other celebs.

Maybe she needs to develop a personality or improve her dancing. She seems likeable enough, but she's very forgettable.

No need to act up - Louis and Michael don't act up and I think both are quite popular.

People like to demonise Cheryl Cole. The idea that anyone was poised to vote and then saw Cheryl and decided not to is just beyond all comprehension.

Yes - I agree. They started out good & have remained good but there is no real buzz about what they do. They are now being overtaken by the lesser but fun dancers but more importantly the 'journey' dancers. Viewers engage with partnerships & seeing Victoria / Michael making massive improvements they buy into wanting to see more.

I was actually halfway through dialling Kimberley's number, and then I got a sudden flashback to Cheryl's face in the audience. And so I stopped dialling and threw the phone against the wall, smashing it to smithereens. I then set the pieces on fire, just to make sure that I wasn't tempted to glue it back together and try to vote for Kimberley again. Then I buried the smouldering smithereens in the garden.

This happened. It did.

Kimberley has had her highest score two weeks running. She is improving. Second on the leaderboard is not too shabby.

She danced better in the dance off. That would have put her at the top with Denise if she would have produced that dance the first time around.

That's pretty much it for me. She's nice enough but rather dull (in my opinion) and I'm not all that keen on Pascha either.

Same with Nicky and Karen. He's dull, she's a pain

Of course the judges know the polling & will be briefed pre-show - year after year it is transparent how they order things on the leaderboard.

Kimberley has the same issue as many attractive females in showbiz - she's gone a long way largely because of her looks which means she has not had to cultivate much of a personality.

The judges are not given the results of the public phone vote. By all means come up with some more crackpot conspiracy theories as to how they must be, but they're really, really not.

Personally, I didn't vote for her because while she's very pretty and actually comes across as a really sweet girl, she's not a very good ballroom and latin dancer. It shocked the hell out of me, I really did expect her to be good. But IMO she's really not. Maybe the public at large agree?

Maybe it's the disconnect between what we're seeing and what the judges are telling us? She's made at least one whopping huge mistake in every dance.

I had the same thing with Lisa Snowdon, the whole time they were telling me she was amazing and giving her 10s, the more I was screaming at the tv about her mistakes and how unbelievably slow her quick dances were.

If the judges tell us that they've seen the faults and then give them the mark they were going to anyway, I think we'd be more engaged.

But were you going to vote for her? The thread asks why her vote collapsed. If you're not 'her vote', you're off the hook

Pasha had a brilliant partnership last year with Chelsee so it`s a shame this years pairing is so flat
