Don't tell Sofakat!

I think the forum is a place for anyone providing you bring your sense of humour with you.

Sofakat can get away with plenty cos she's witty and perceptive.
But when she goes off on one of her Dahnce Purist rants I just roll my eyes and ignore her until she settles down!

This used to be mainly a dance forum. Well maybe it was about 40/60 dance/entertainment. No one would have been advised to go elsewhere for more dance content. Actually, no one would have suggested that someone might be happier elsewhere because everyone was more polite. It was nice.

Really, I've been here since 2004 and I don't remember it being all about the dance. I seem to remember the massive board wars of series 5.

And Mimi was trying to help, not chase someone off.

I spent quite a while composing those few posts.
You've completely misunderstood me.

I was extremely polite

Like a lot of your posts, this is weird and doesn't make much sense.
I leave you to blunder round the forum in peace (ha ha)

I compere SCD with what I know and that is medicine . If I had a very complex birth and a baby in distress I would consult the experts , midwives and the Obstetrician .If I had a fussy baby who wont settle or wont go in a buggy I ask my Gran or my neighbour who has six kids .
Same with the dancing , if its the pro competion ask a purist , for SCD opinions your Grans is just as valid .After all its aimed at the general pulic and its they who chose the winner .

Well said. Good analogy.

BIB - I read as size 14 boobs, and thought WHAT!!!!

But I think the whole thing about this discussion is that everyone has a valid opinion, and we all see things totally differently, be it someone with a professional dance background, or someone who watches just for pleasure.

And in my opinion, dancing is, like ice skating and some other so called sports, something which is not really judgeable. Unless every partnership does exactly the same dance, with the same moves, and wears the same clothes, then it's not fair. The dance is marked on entertainment, and what pleases the judges at that moment. So in truth, it is an entertainment programme, which makes all poster's knowledge equally valid.

And mimi dic, you are always extremely polite.

It doesn't matter if they started watching yesterday, they have an opinion, so it's different to yours, you have to deal with it. God if I had a hissy fit everytime someone disagreed with me I'd never leave the house.

What gets me riled, is FMs diving into or starting threads with the express reason for being obtuse, contrary and rudely dismissing others. I don't know what's happened to the board this year, but I miss the fluffy threads, since they went into the attic things have got crazier, also they helped keep some of the more barking threads off the front page.

Right I'm off to run some errands, before I end up in Bognor.”

Isn't it a case of be careful what (some) on here wished for? It's true that if the fan threads were still on the main board, they might have squeezed out the more pointless, repetitive, boring and or irritating ones that have sprouted like fungi over the last couple of years.

Don't let some people put you off, the majority of us enjoy reading your postings, even if we don't say so, lots of us are the 'silent majority'. Please stay.

Oops, sorry for the misunderstanding
TBH, with some posters, maybe short shrift is better
But I appreciate you, and if I really wanted serious dance advice I would try a dance forum, here it's entertainment (unless it involves Ann Widdecombe dancing and that, for me, is just torture)
