Satisfied that it is doing everything advertised, shame no sky one or full sky movies set on the tv front, but broadband has been superb, no caps as yet. Fingers crossed for more channels soon tho.

Any more views on Homechoice?
Any views on the quality of the tv signal/compression?
How does quality compare with Sky movies? I am very interested in understanding whether people find the service genuinly a replacement for Sky (particularly if you have had Sky+ as well) All info welcomed |

The Homechoice image does have a slightly blurred appearance up close but this is due to be sorted soon when they upgrade their systems. This is not noticeable when watching from the sofa though. I have seen friends Sky and would say it was similar picture quality. HC cannot record like Sky+ or pause/rewind live programmes, this feature is only on the VOD content.

what do you think of the range of VOD content?
Do you find the VOD films a useful service? Which service do you use and why? |

No problem with picture quality, of course its not crystal clear but what is? Havent really checked out VOD films yet, too many dvd's to catch up on, but the content is huge. Other VOD channels arent exhaustive but as long as there are a few series on there you like then it can keep you occupied for ages. Sky movies is good but only half of channels compared with sky/ntl and no sky cinema. Hopefully that will come eventually!

The video on demand service is a great idea but I still find it limiting and would rather rent a DVD or video to get the exact film I want to see. The more up to date films are great and that aspect I really do like but the back catalogue is limited and would rather have a choice of 20 classic films in each genre rather than 3 great classics and 50 B movies.
I actually unsubscribed from Sky when I first got my homechoice but last month got my Sky back as well. I missed the choice of channels and oddly missed channel hopping. |

I got Homechoice because I didn't think I would be able to get Sky where I rent...
Turned out I've ended up with both... Have 2MB Broadband and have been more than satisfied with reliability and speed... The VOD choice for tv series seems too limited... Not too impressed with choice of movies... IMHO... with a few extra channels, maybe Sky Sports News for example... is a good alternative for those that don't/can't have sky... and with Broadband is good value |
