During the talk with Caroline and Olly on Xtra Factor Ella was discussing what it was like to be the last girl in the competition, she said something about not being able to have girly chats but she had Rylan and Jaymi so it wasn’t too bad.

I suppose this is a bit of a blow to the producer’s quest to put him back into the closet.

It's common knowledge on here and I would imagine it is also common knowledge among many of their Twitter & Tumblr stalkers.

I'm surprised he hasn't been outed as the only proper singer left on the show.

We can only assume they want him in the final with Ella. If he was doing too well and Cowell didn't want him to win then well....

I can't remember exactly how he ended up in that band. Were they sort of hashed together or did he audition as a solo artist?

If he'd done the show solo he'd wipe the floor with the rest of them.

He auditioned with the band he's in now (minus George, the Harry Styles lookalike, who was added to the group in judges houses) - and he's actually been in a few bands before this one... so doesn't seem to look at himself like a solo artist.

Damn, such a shame. Though I think that's the only positive of that band surviving. I think he'll leave them first chance he gets once they're established.

Amazing singer, dunno what the boy band attraction was for him in the first place.

From my recollection, he auditioned as a member of Triple J, not as a solo artist. The group became Union J when George joined. Personally, I think he's better suited to being in a boyband than to being a solo artist, even though he has an outstanding voice. I can't see him wiping the floor with Jahmene or James.

I have to disagree. James has a a very boring dull voice but because he grunts and conveys painfully fake 'passion' at the end of every song people seem to like him.

Jahmene was great on Saturday. He sang instead of performing vocal exercises but he kind of blew it for me with all the histrionics at the end.

Jaymi just sings. Just. Sings. He's an amazing singer and maybe he likes a boy band to hide behind. If that's so fair play to him but he is undoubtedly the best vocalist in that competition by a ridiculous margin imho.

Basically, Jaymi sings effortlessly. I think that's what it boils down to. Jahmene is always thinking about hitting the right notes and you can tell just looking at his face (he didn't have to tell us that yesterday, it was obvious just looking at him)....

I think technically speaking, Jaymi is better than James for sure. With Jahmene, I think it depends on whether Jahmene gets some vocal lessons about his pitch and vocal gymnastics and if he can tone that down and just SING then he's possibly on par with Jaymi.

Yep that's definitely the deal with Jahmene. He oversings everything and I mean everything. Much better on Saturday but did you notice that high note at the end was massively out of tune?

Nobody commented on it, the same as when Ella is all over the place the judges develop hearing difficulties.

You could never imagine that happening with Jaymi because he just sings. No thought involved just a lot of emotion and superb delivery. He's a class above the rest of them no doubt about it.

It's a bit like Mark from Westlife, undeniably outstanding voice but if you gave them a solo record contract, something tells you it just wouldn't work.
