He does not need the x factor cheese associated with him..he is like Ed Sheeran..whack him on stage with his own song, just him and a guitar and he will captivate an audience

Same with Ella really, i think Ella is amazing

Well my advice to him is to go. Go now. Go join your friend Ed.

I await the day they both decide to put out a cheery tune. I will be waiting a long long time.

So why did James and Ella enter the competition? It's been going for years so they must have known what they were letting themselves in for. If they're ruined as a result of the show they've only got themselves to blame.

I think they were invited to enter by the producers because on shows like The Voice they were talent scouting and getting a much better calibre of contestant. X-Factor were taking a leaf out of their book to try to get better singers. In that sense acts like Ella and James were already budding musicians who would have made it anyway. It would have just taken them longer.

Nah

As long as he doesnt win he'll be fine- get a good contract and be free as a bird!

Quite a canny thing to do. Im sure a lot of people who dont want to win, enter in the hope of expose so they can bag a good deal off the back of it.

Fair enough! About time acts started exploiting the show- the contracts kill off most of the winners!
He seems really well respected by people outside the show- he'll be fine.

Breathe easy!

The best thing he could do is finish second and he can have Rebecca type success, and he's a similar kind of artist.

If Rebecca won, she would've been labelled a flop. But because she never won, people see her success for what it is.

Really good point.

I do honestly think decent acts go on wanting exposure and hope NOT to win!
