Never owned a Viewsonic pad but I've got a viewsonic monitor which I've had for a good 5 or 6 years still going strong. Looks a good deal, 1.5ghz dual core, 1gb ram. Based in China though.

Also a 7 inch version with the same spec for £87 if anyone is interested.

And an 8 incher £97.99

Wonder if it supports google play though. I'm not sure it's google certified. Also I think it was intended for the Chinese market and doesn't have an official release in the west as far as I can tell.

Spec wise looks pretty damn good for the money.

Forget the Viewsonic and go for this with full market

Buy from UK seller should guarantee few Chinese apps

After owning the Advent Vega, I've always thought what you want from a cheap Android pad is a lot of enthusiasts developing custom ROMS.
That way you get Google Play and well how else are you gonna get the latest version of Andoid?

That's common knowledge and any of the big Manufacturers will probably eventually update their devices but we're talking about the cheap ones here which I doubt get many if any updates at all.

Yeah I know what you mean, I got a vega as well. We weren't getting any official updates but look around the modding community, they had a jellybean rom out quick time, and it works quite well on the vega.

I still use it occasionally, but my playbook is the weapon of choice these days so use that far more often and when out and about.

Oh right, what was up with the wifi? connection dropping? Thinking of getting it as a crimbo prezzie for someone. But I may just opt for the playbook since it's still at bargain basement price.

Near to the router the wifi is fine but further away the signal drops really quickly. Upstairs my ancient ipod touch 1st gen gets a reasonable wifi signal, the momo gets nothing.

It's a real shame because the momo is really fast and the 8 inch screen is beautiful.

Viewsonic made some pretty good tablets in last few years so if you find a good deal for one of these don't hesitate to buy. I know their ViewPad 10E was very successful and the dual-core 3G ViewPad 10S was Viewsonic's top of the range tablet. The quality and performance of Viewsonic tablets can't be compared to those of Samsung and co but I think they are one step ahead of the rest cheap Chinese tablets.

I would say get the Samsung tab2. With the money back it works out at £119. Bargain.
