I agree with a lot of what you say. That underwired bust horror on no bust Pendleton was truly bad. Back fat was an issue on Saturday with both Fern & Lisa. A couple of weeks ago Lisa went to an awards evening dressed by Anna Scholz who designs for 20+ and she looked fabulous. The VW dress with the chiffon draped front made the best attempt at disguising Lisa's abdomen which if we are honest is her biggest problem area. However she does have pretty good legs and the black beaded flapper style was quite flattering. Corsetry is a must or at the very least two sports bras.....coming up the stairs post dance she is all bouncing all over the place.......and I write this as a poster with the bigga boobies and a couple of tyres to spare!

Especially as she's struggled with her weight for a long time and had probably just started to feel good about herself again as her body got into shape with all the dancing.

What happened to Victoria's boobs? I'm clearly not watching this in the right spirit

Oh lol at that comment

Victoria, she of the healthy toned body, gets called 'no bust' for having a flat chest, and her wearing an underwired bra gets called a 'bust horror' .

Lisa, she of the obese flabby body, gets positive comments like 'fabulous'

The rolling eyes are not necessary. You are taking comments out of context. This discussion is about costumes not fitness or health issues.

You cannot be trying to say that Victoria must be a better dancer than Lisa because one is fit and one is not?

Nothing happened to her boobs! What I meant was the dancer with the flattest chest wore an underwired costume and the dancer who really needed an underwired costumed didn't!

Where did I say that? We're talking about costumes and bodies aren't we?

That's why I questioned your reply. Where does it say that Lisa looked fabulous?

I wasn't originally referring to your comment, I was referring to Mrs BBV's comment, I've highlighted the parts too

I realise that, but fabulous was used by Mrs BBV to describe Lisa when she was at an awards evening, not when she was dressed by Strictly's Wardrobe department.

Yes, I know that. But the comment about Victoria was quite uncalled for. 'No bust Pendleton' - I hate it when people get addressed by their surname, it's so rude.

Both Wardrobe and Hair & Makeup on Strictly seem to have some very strange ideas about what looks good.

I had to laugh on tonight's ITT when they showed Victoria backstage saying how much she loved getting her makeup done. I always think she looks beautiful on ITT but by the time the Strictly make up team are done with her on Saturday night she always looks about 10 years older.

I quite liked Lisa's Jive dress because it wasn't trying to make any secret about her by covering her in swathes of extra fabric and Lisa totally had the conviction to pull it off. But yes, that Foxtrot was horribly unsupportive.

Also, I don't know why someone didn't make it a matter of urgency to make Fern a costume with a back immediately after the dress rehearsal. She never should have been allowed on TV like that.

I get you now. I don't like that either.

What a low to go home on too. Highest score of the series and then seeing herself on the VT like that thinking she was looking good.

Would anyone like to award wardrobe paddles from 1 to 10 for:

? -- Denise
? -- Victoria
? -- Lisa
? -- Dani
? -- Kimberley

And for the pro dancers:

? -- Natalie
? -- Karen
? -- Erin
? -- Flavia

The lowest-marked dressmaker should be eliminated .

Yep same here. I'm sure she'll be horrified if she watches it back.

I think the wardrobe get it right with some and not with others. Flavia's dress for example was beautiful, i want it
I wasn't a fan of Denise' outfit, was it a trouser suit?

Like most men my knowledge of the dress design world is zero but the clever twist was putting Lisa and her partner in black there bye hiding the top line of Lisa which alas is ugly in dance terms

Also the joint black tops hid for most the inability of the couple to form the normal V shape

For me
Denise 5 - there was that horrible black glittery back strap that just looked like her bra strap was showing and her boobs looked like deflating balloons

Victoria 7 - again boob area was weird but beautiful dress, , didn't like her hair though

Lisa 4 - no support, shouldn't have chiffon bits when you have back fat and shouldn't be so tight over her stomach

Dani 5 - why does everything look like it was made for a Barbie doll circa 1968? She should be dressed similar to Rachel Stevens was.

Kimberley - 8 hasn't had a bad dress yet. They seem to dress her body shape very well as she has quite large hips and a tiny top area, but they balance it out brillantly.

Natalie - 8 always gorgeous

Karen - 6 I think you can tell she's the new pro and they haven't worked out what her style is yet

Erin - nearly always a 9 has some of the most breathtaking dresses ever made on Strictly, she has them made for her, I believe. Hated the charleston outfit thought

Flavia - 9/10. Knows what suits her, has an amazing body and knows how to dress it. Dresses are always interesting. Loved her samba dress last week.

In the Wardrobe bit on ITT, they said they planned to overlay the sleeves on Denise's dress with back piping - which would have tied in the black back strap. Without it, is just looked odd.

I wonder how much say the celebs have int the fine tuning of the dresses?

I think Dani would benefit from the style they've decided on for Nimble Kimble (sing it with me now ... She flies like a bird in the sky-y-y ...).

The budget seems to be directed at Kimble, Denise and Victoria - even though it doesn't always work out well.

Just putting in my 2 cents. Proper corsets do not restrict breathing or movements, and also improve posture. However a custom-made corset takes at least a week and, if I remember correctly, £200-£400. Not to mention the cost of hiring a corset maker in the first place. I imagine that's why they went for cheap lycra, and saving the expense for sequins etc
Having said that, didnt' Adele reveal that she was wearing 5 pairs of spandex underneath her grammy//brit award dress? Maybe Lisa should consider that?

Yes,what has happened to that lovely, sophisticated head dress designer who used to come on ITT a few years ago, and made the gorgeous dresses for the likes of Lisa Snowden and Kelly Brook ?? As a junoesque lady myself I am an expert in the support requirements of larger boobed ladies, and suffice it to say, no lycra fabric on its own will do. She needs a very firm, properly designed bra with underwires or boning and broader shoulder straps, to hoike everything up and prevent bounce. These can be extremely comfortable and in fact it's far more comfortable dancing properly supported than when bouncing about. So Lisa needs dresses with built in proper, firm support, to give her shape, and dresses with an empire line (like that ghastly purple ballroom dress) do not flatter her at all because they have a seam immediately under the bust from where the fabric then sticks out. A long dress made from shaped panels, top to hem, no waist or under-bust seams, and shaped in under the bust, would be very flattering for her.

I remember Vikki said in the first week, as the wardrobe department was still figuring out the celebs' tastes, they had more say in what they like/don't like. As the weeks go on, it's mostly just a fitting session on Fridays, simple because wardrobe didn't have enough time

Well they seem to have enough time to fit Flavia, Victoria and Kimberly properly and beautifully!!

I think you mean Sue Judd and I miss her expertise too.
