Why cannot such bras be built into Lisa's dresses ? That's what I want to know.”

I think Lisa's shape is changing pretty rapidly at the moment and I'm guessing time is an issue too but tbh she would be better off going to Rigby & Peller and getting something custom made.

That's what I don't understand either. Why don't the celebs say they won't wear something that sticks out like a sore thumb as not fitting properly? That's one step further than wearing something they don't suit, which is bad enough.

I think Dani is slightly different because with her Wardrobe have made a decision to dress her in a 50s style shape. That's just a cop out.

Su Judd is still on the cast list still working as a costume stylist in the Costume and Wardrobe department. She's not listed as a costume designer though.

Have a look on eBay, but make sure it's a level 4. The most comfortable thing you will ever wear and nothing short of an armoured tank is moving those puppies.

I'm a gym addict, so I need something that keeps them anchored and its brilliant if you get a bad back or sore shoulders.

Lisa needs good underwear just to get her posture right. Her boobs are heavy and they're dragging her forward and I bet her back and shoulders are always killing her. Good underwear, which she doesn't wear in the training room either has broader shoulder straps too, so the weight is better distributed.

Anything would be better than how they are dealing with her now. Never mind the thousands of "bewgul beads", which seems to be what concerns them more.

Good prices on ebay......thanks Alli! Much appreciated! Xx

No one is suggesting the dancers should just wear leotards; it's just that competitive ballroom & Latin dresses are built onto a leotard base. This makes the dress hang better, and more secure for the wearer's modesty. It also alleviates the problem Natalie had last Saturday of flashing a tiny pair of briefs ....

Even the men wear a type of leotard as their shirts, for both ballroom and Latin, include a lycra pants section (bit like cycle shorts) which ensures that the shirts stay in place when they move and stretch.

The celebs get a small amount of say in their costumes - i.e "it must have sleeves"; "I refuse point blank to wear xxxx colour", but that's about all.

Yes, I understand all that, but a leotard base on its own is no use at all for supporting Lisa properly. Well endowed ladies need either a built in properly fitted corset top, or to wear a very supportive, no bounce bra underneath said leotard.

On DWTS I've seen the ladies wear corsets/bustiers and they had no problems dancing in them.

Looking great too!

Thinking about it, I can't remember thinking about this kind of thing about female celebs on DWTS.

I realise they haven't had any celebs on DWTS who have quite the same shape as Lisa but they've had Marissa Jaret Winokur, Kirtsie Alley and Nancy Grace, all of whom are larger women, and the costume department had them all looking great compared to Strictly's efforts with larger women.

None of these are larger women (quite the opposite!) but for examples of corset/bustier costumes on Rock Week of DWTS Season 11 (week 6):

Cheryl Burke & Rick Fox - Tango
Brandy & Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Tango
Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough - Paso Doble

Yes, if they followed the rules previously outlined i.e. built in strong, supportive corsetry in the dress bodice, no seams just under the bust e.g. empire line dresses are a no no , and dresses should be made from vertical, shaped panels which go shoulder to hem, nipped in at the waist and flaring out a lot at the hem. The hemline would then detract from the top half, as the hem of the dress swishes out. Lisa has lost a lot of weight so it should be perfectly possible now.

But I did say (somewhere above) that larger ladies, like Lisa, need to have a proper supporting bra built into the leotard base.

It did occur to me that that dress would look naturally great on someone like Jerry, who is more of a column shape. But on ITT Lisa said she loved the costume, so I guess that counts for something!

Indeed you did, trouble is, the dressmakers don't do it !!

Have just looked at the photos of Ann (Widdy) in Children in Need, and for once she hasn't been dressed in a hideous, unsuitable and unsupported frock, in a hideous colour. Looks simple, unfussy, swirly hem and in plain white. So it can be done !

Absolutely - which almost brings this thread back to where it began!

'Problem areas'. 'Covering up'. 'Back fat'. 'Not flattering'. Crikey people. Maybe Lisa doesn't care about any of this and therefore has the confidence not to give a damn. Perhaps she feels she looks good? Maybe she doesn't care she has an 'apple' shape (which is fast changing).

I for one think she looks fab, and is gorgeous. Imo, she doesn't just have a 'pretty face', she has a lovely figure as well, with the sassyness to pull off outfits I should think half the people in this forum wouldn't dare do.

Even as a dressmaker myself, I would never normally comment on a thread that was so critical of intimate aspects of someones body. But I had as far as I'm concerned, she looks great.

We're not criticising at all, far from it, we love Lisa ! We just want her to be given lovely dresses, in gorgeous colours, like the slimmer ladies, but with correct support for her built into the bodice especially, and in styles to flatter her.

Thanks kaycee. I wonder whether wardrobe will have taken any of our advice re Lisa's dress tonight ?? If another empire line appears, with a vast skirt attached to a seam just under her bosom, I may scream.

I always think she looks good given her size: there's a balance to be struck between making her look glam and the challenge of her being a BBW. It's never going to work perfectly and I sometimes think she might choose to wear a little less slap but I guess she's made up by one of the 'experts'. She's clearly having a ball and that's what makes her so watchable for many people.

Well, I had high hopes after the cha cha cha. But all I'm left with is that she's a pleasant woman and she does jolly well to get herself around the floor at such speed considering she's a fair size.

I'd like Richard to go next. Then Nicky. Then Denise. Then Lisa.

Whaaaat, you would rather keep Victoria longer than Lisa.

Yes, I'd have a ban on actresses. VP is hopeless but I would still keep her over Lisa, Denise and Dani. Yes.
