well what?? I like both bands...for different reasons. also they both CANT dance...
The Wanted: I think they are the bad boys in a way. They have catchy dance music. I liked their "Battlefield" album I can listen to it from start to finish. I got their US Ep....with two new songs and I have ordered their UK Cd single of "I found You" which to me, sounds like "Chasing The Sun" both catchy songs that shall do well. One Direction I love them...they are so cute. I got my 3 nieces into them. Clean music....I see them lasting a bit... but I prefer the humble JLS.....bu thats for another thread... |

I like the music for both bands but the Wanted come off as douche bags in interviews always slagging off others. Really at this stage of their career they are not in the position to be doing that.

The truth of the matter is that they are two different types of boybands aimed at different markets. One Direction are young, fun and cheeky aimed mainly at girls between 12-16, whereas The Wanted are more cool, edgy and rebellious aimed at an older audience of 16-24 yeard olds.
There's a market for both of them hence why currently they are two of the UK's biggest boybands worldwide. |

Their album flopped quite badly in America, and there just a one hit wonder over there. Back to the question- The Wanted have some good songs, but I don't really like them as a group. All they ever do is moan and just bash other people. I have to say I prefer 1D as they have a lot of good songs, and also because all five members of the group have great personalities

Not interested in either group to be honest - too old. But really it does seem that One Direction are far more successful than The Wanted you just need to look at the I tune charts

Can't stand either of them. @umr3000: I'm 22 and can't stand The Wanted. Probably would love them if I was still a teenager though. 1D annoy me to the point I want to smash the radio or TV if they come on.

One Direction fans are 8-14yr olds and The Wanted fans are probably 11-17 yr olds mainly I would think, surely anyone aged 18 + would have found something better to do with their lives?

You would be surprised how both groups have a large older fan base. And why should you judge what age someone likes music or artists? You cannot categorise fans to one artist by age! The world would be a very strange place if we all liked the same thing!

Overall I prefer One Direction, they have really good voices, but The Wanted have more unique voices.
As for the music, The Wanted do dance whereas 1D do pop/rock, I guess I like them both equally on this front since both are equally pretty catchy. Personality wise I prefer One Direction by far, they seem like really nice, normal guys who love their fans. The Wanted on the other hand do love their fans, but they can be total douches in respect to other artists' sometimes, they need to learn to shut up, you can be a bad boy without slagging off other people, also, tattoo's are considered quite bad boy-ish right? I just realised that One Direction's Zayn probably has more of them than every member of The Wanted COMBINED. |

Stop the Judging
I don't think people can sit there and critizie a spesific band when they dont no a single thing bout them
Yeah I personally favour The Wanted but I do not hate One Direction and I do not call them names behind their backs... I keep my comments to myself. I dont think people should judge people because of matters that have been mentioned online and through magazines. I admit I was a little upset when I heard they were splitting up but I got over it and moved on because I learned that no matter how upset I could become it wouldn't change their decision. I blame no one and hate none of them. I think people should stop judging things by their front cover!

Personally I prefer The Wanted but that doesn't mean I hate One Direction. I keep my comments to myself to avoid people getting frustrated. I will admit that I was upset when I heard that they were going to split but I got over it because no matter how upset I could become my actions wont change their minds becuase they go unheard to the world and to the most importand five members of The Wanted. I would like to personally thank The Wanted one day in person for a fabulous four years of music. And that I will always support them where ever their heart intends them to go. You guys have a bright successful life ahead of you guys and I am so very proud! xx

The Wanted's music is blatantly better although sometimes hit and miss. 1D's singles are pretty much all 5/10 and forgettable but One Direction seem like such nicer people and they have Zayn.

To be honest, The Wanted probably won't be remembered much in 10/20 years time.
They had the odd catchy song, but it all went downhill when their ego's got too large after a couple of hits. They've been overshadowed by One Direction everywhere, including here in the UK & the US. |
