I thought "upload" was basically uploading the track details so playback uses a world database like Spotify....... not physically uploading every song I have! !
Its going to take ages on my connection as my upload speed is only 300-400kbps. |

I thought it was going to be a matching service, but mine has literally uploaded 2000 songs.

I've been using this for a few weeks, didn't it launch in the UK a few weeks/months ago?

seems like they could release an app that does the matching locally.

About 1000 of my tracks were quickly matched, with the rest gradually being uploaded. |

Can you add your own songs to the cloud? or purchased songs only?

available from:
http://music.google.com To upload photos you need to download a little Windows/Mac app which will try and match songs to Google's database and upload the rest. It searches in obvious places like "My Music" folders and itunes folders but you can tell it to search particular folders as well. I did this before the match thing came out, so just left it running for a couple of days, no big deal. Then you can play your music on any browser, on any device

Hmmm looks like you have some high bit rate music in there. That's an average of almost 7MB per track. Either that or you have some videos in there somewhere.

A better idea would be a bit of software on your PC that analyses all your music rather than uploading stuff that could take ages!

The widget for this has just froze on my S3 not even clickable now. Froze my phone up just before it finally went kaput.

My plan is to sell my ipod or give it my partner, then just use this as for my music. I hardly listen to my ipod because its ANOTHER device to carry about.
I'm going to download albums to my phone, then delete them when i get bored. |

I'm not convinced that it scanned and matched anything of mine. All my music is commerically available in the UK, and yet it took several hours to upload over 2000 tracks. |

Maybe I'll start uploading on the weekend. I guess it's gonna be time consuming. Some of the albums are even cheaper than amazon. I wonder how long these prices will hold.
