Possibly stupid cooking question

Hi
I am a male attempting to follow a recipe for "Turkey Tetrazzini".

However, the recipe asks for some already cooked turkey meat.
Is that the meat you get get in packets in the sandwich aisles of supermarkets? And if so is it safe to re cook it as part of a recipe?

I wouldn't try that, it's more like turkey breast or thigh roasted then chopped up.

Oh, so you're advising against cooking pre cooked Turkey? Fair enough, I'm glad I didnt nip down the shops for some now.
Thanks for your reply

Tetrazzini an American dish, and the only time I've ever had it is post Thanksgiving when we're trying to use up the turkey leftovers. I definitely wouldn't use packaged meat, and there's no law that says it has to be turkey, so if I were you I'd buy a pre-roasted chicken from the supermarket and use that instead.

Hi,
Thanks for that idea - I didnt know it was an American meal - it looks very tasty in the picture and simple to make - hence it was my choice on my day off

If you want to use turkey then you can get fresh turkey breast or diced pieces from the supermarket.
