All of these shows tend to look for and often find a commentator for diary rooms/general comments. They then get asked the whats going on questions- because they are smart enough to know and articulate enough to explain to the viewers. Charlie fits into that role. The downside is that there's some viewers who think its wrong for anyone to make any comments- however obvious - about anyone, and most people you comment on will have some supporters who don't agree with your comment.It tends to be a role thats falls to females, and they tend to get to the end, but most don't win. Charlie however has other strengths to deploy if she gets that far.




then why are they still voting for Helen. Everyone knew this was a double so for a variety of reasons those 2 together are a good choice. Having said that you're probably right about the public view and as ever it's sexist to it's core.
