I agree.

So, she was in Chicago several years ago and learnt off the same routine to do night after night - even Michelle Williams who was terrible on Strictly could do that!
She has never learnt ballroom or Latin before and she works really hard at all her dances and thats what counts imo,

Denise was in Chicago in 2001/2 - ten years ago with one dance at the end. The other shows she has been in - Les Mis, Tell me on a Sunday, Legally Blonde, Rent, were all acting/singing roles not dancing.

I know there are grey areas. Anyone in acting can probably do a bit of sword-play/riding/dancing/singing to a decent level. But Denise goes way behind grey into the BLACK zone. She's the pro-iest pro from PRO-land who has ever been on SCD. I wish we could do without the thesps altogether.

But DVO? No.”

Kara, Harry & Ricky oozed pro... & they weren't. Some people are just gifted dancers.

It's very clear Denise is not a trained dancer, particularly in her CCC where she didn't get the hip action right.

Denise isn't a trained dancer? But it's very clear she is. She says so herself!

Denise says she is a trained dancer. Why do people keep contradicting her? She should know.

I don't want Denise to win simply because she does not feel the music or the emotion of the dance. James can choreograph the moves but I don't believe the story they are telling. I feel the same way about Louis. Even amongst the pros some can act the story while others are technically as good but their performances are less enjoyable because there is no emotion. Denise went to stage school from the age of twelve so obviously she loves to perform but for me she is not the whole package.

I think Denise could be bottom two tonight - her Charleston isn't looking good - and I think Victoria will join her

yes, same as previous contestants and the same as Kimberley.
Even Kimberely has said she has the same dance background as Denise.
But neither Denise nor Kimberley nor the other past contestants who have trained in dance in stage school trained in Ballroom or Latin dancing

But have the previous contestants and Kimberley had as much training and experience at the level Denise has clearly had? We have seen Denise's dance credentials from the beginning of SCD.

Wish Denise had even more training and experience because then she and James would be even more fun to watch!

Exactly.

Darcey is a trained dancer, the SCD pros are trained dancers, Denise is not.

She, Kimberley, Jill, Emma Bunton among others studied dance among a lof of other things at stage school. Hell even Russell Brand studied dance at stage school! Are people going to start saying he's a 'trained dancer' too?

But the obsession with Denise is not rational, so there's no point trying to reason with it...

Well, Denise disagrees with you. Denise is a trained dancer.

DVO -

BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT BLINKING LISTENING! DENISE SAID SHE WAS A TRAINED DANCER. SHE SAID IT. HER. HERSELF. WHY AREN'T YOU ACCEPTING IT?

exactly.
I think it must be quite insulting to professional dancers to hear Denise refered to as a professional dancer!
She is performer (like Kimberley and many other SCD celebs) who went to stage school and has done some dance - theres a difference imo.

So why did she say she trained as a dancer? If she didn't?

No one is saying she hasn't had dance training.
She has, but so have many others.....including by her own admission Kimberley.

Well, trained or not trained, she does'nt appear to have made any kind of journey or improvement to me since the show started.
She fails to move me with any of her dances, some of them are better than others which is fair enough but I've seen her on ITT and every week she says the same old thing, it's been a struggle this week, etc........
She comes across as insincere to me. I have very little to base this on other than my excellent judge of character but when James hurt his ankle, she did'nt show him much empathy and in the short video I saw, was trying to have the focus of the camera on her not him. Even on ITT she's the same, always wanting the last word.

She's very proficient. The most proficient. Why wouldn't she be? She's had training.

I don't want to see a bunch of wannabes. I include Dani, Lisa and Kimberley in that category btw.

That's why I'm very pro-Michael.

As Kimberley has had the same stage school dance training & years of experience of performing dance routines in a pop band, why is she not as 'proficient'?

Harry, Ricky were so good it was extraordinary that they had no real training. But some people are just naturally gifted.

Personally I think Denise is naturally talented at dance & she has a bit of dance training from stage school. Same as Kimberley.
