One Direction completly owning US itunes
I knew they were popular but currently doing so well- 6 tracks of the top 20 and 19 tracks of the top 100:
Little things- 2 and 33 (25% ahead of number 1) She's Not Afraid- 13 Nobody compares- 14 Still the one- 16 Loved you first- 18 Live while we're young- 24 and 69 (12 combined) Kiss you- 26 rock me- 40 heart attack- 44 they don't know about us- 47 last first kiss- 52 what makes you beautiful- 66 I would- 70 C'mon C'mon- 75 Over Again- 77 Summer Love- 96 Change my mind- 98 also 19 tracks of the top 100 Canadian tracks Do you think they will get #1 on the hot 100 and how much will the album sell? |

I think they'll definitely get the number 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. They've already sold over 130,000 on just pre-orders alone in the US (a record as its the most pre-ordered album ever
). Also Hits Daily Double are predicting the album to sell 500,000 copies this week. I think they might sell between 300,000 and 400,000, but they might prove us wrong like they always do.

I think it is. Watch this weeks charts it looks like they could be heading for a double. Number one album and single and if not it looks a cert for number one album and top 3 single which wasn't supposed to be released until beginning of December

I think Little Things will debut top ten like Skyfall did in the US based on strong download sales not sure if it'll stay top ten though. The same thing happend in 08 when Jonas Brothers released their album, #1 US album and a top ten debuting new single same week and one week appearances for album tracks lower down 100 that didn't become full singles. The album is going straight to #1 for 1D in the US i think and wouldn't be surprised if ultimatley sells more than the first album.
Am surprised in the UK LT is #1 as the reception of it is very 50/50 and also that it's above Little Mix which is a much stronger track imo. |

They'll get the digital chart #1 (which is the equivalent of a UK #1) but probably not top the Hot 100 because of the way it is made up. LWWY also topped digital but not the Hot 100, IIRC.
Fans buying individual tracks isn't necessarily bad. It might damage the album sales total but these days labels are well aware of this and account for it by measuring "Track Equivalent Albums" where 10 track downloads = 1 album. They're doing a lot better than I expected, tbh. And that goes for both sides of the Atlantic. I was starting to think that maybe the hype was cooling off a bit. Little Things has been the real surprise I guess, seems to have worked perfectly for the album despite the song itself getting more mixed reviews than their previous efforts. |

I think they meant it was surprising how One Diection's songs didn't clog up the high end of iTunes in the Uk.

i think those tracks up the list (aside from little things) that we think are being cherry picked might actually be bonus songs that fans are adding to their "regular edition" TMH album!! ![]()

It's such a shame they are a manufactured little pop band who can't sing, dance or write music.

I know I'm biased but so glad to see Lana at least dislodge the 1D Standard Edition from 3rd place.

It isn't how well 1D do in Week 1 that counts. It is how
they do in Week 2, Week 3, & later, that will show if they really do have as many Fans as the Media makes out. In the UK, they have not shown much ability to stay in the Top 10 for very long. 'What Makes You Beautiful' was No.1 for 1 Week, & Top 10 for 5 Weeks. Their other 3 Top 10 Hits only managed 4 Top 10 Weeks - between them. Their first Album reached No.2, but was only Top 10 for 6 Weeks. They really are not showing much ability to remain in the UK Top 10 for very long. That's why they are not as big as the hype makes out. In both the UK Singles & Albums Charts, it is The Beatles, Rolling Stones, ABBA, Take That, & Queen etc., who are the Groups with over 100 Top 10 Weeks. One Direction are never, ever going to achieve that. Their Hits don't stay in the Top 10 long enough. A big fuss was made when 'Live While We're Young', went into the USA Hot 100 at No.3 - the highest ever entry by a UK Group. The Media then pretended not to notice, when it fell from 3 to 21, in Week 2! A lot of what One Direction achieve seems to be 1st Week hype. I find it highly ironic that the UK Press says that Oasis never made it in the USA - even though they've had several Million Selling Albums there. 'What's The Story....' sold over 4 Million in the USA. It Peaked at No.4. The 1st One Direction Album went in at No.1 there, but, it will not get close to the Sales of the 2nd Oasis Album. The 1D Album has been on Sale for Months there, & it has sold just over 1,300,000. |

To be fair, it's a totally different album market nowadays. 1995's million probably equtes to toady's 250k. But i do get your point.

Zeus. You cannot keep comparing bands of old with today's bands. You need to compare them to today's artists and right now like it or not they are up with the big players like Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, Rhianna. |

I agree with Zeus555 point as well - that is all I keep saying in the other thread. Unfortunately, when I say it, some people think I am crazy and one user actually twists my words. I don't hate 1D and I'm not saying things out of some spite - good luck to them.
