....just watched the channel four episode and the next episode on E4. Absolutely shocked Rhys, Maddie and Neil died. Was not expecting that, especially Rhys, he'd been in it so long. Fantastic episodes, it's been gripping for the last two or three months now. First time in years I'm actually enjoying Hollyoaks more than Eastenders at the moment. Judging by spoilers for fridays episode, I'm expecting another death this week...

I love Eastenders, but the last month or two of Hollyoaks has been amazing. Brendan and Walker, Hollyoaks Later, Riley's death, now the crash and three (maybe four) deaths.

Sensational ep, congratulations to the Hollyoaks team on producing something so gripping and emotional! I hope it gets the credit it deserves. The show has been on fire this year, even more so since Bryan Kirkwood has come back to the fold.

Who'll be the 4th death? Bart taking his own life after realising the destruction he's caused?

Glad Bryan Kirkwood is back where he belongs. He did great things for Hollyoaks during his first stint. I read a spoiler there's more tragedy on friday for a happy couple, I'm guessing Ste or Doug.

Ooh I like your Bart theory.

Hollyoaks has been on top form for the last couple of months. It's the best British soap at the moment. Every episode is consistently brilliant, with tonight's episode setting the bar even higher.

Agreed. First time since around 2007 that I've been more hooked on Hollyoaks more than Eastenders. Every episode is great at the moment. Did you see the Later episodes?

The only unrealistic thing about it was how long was that van going for after the brakes failed. All you'd need to do is take your foot off the gas, let the thing slow down and change down the gears to slow it up. It was like they were still accelerating all the way until it reached the building.

Yes I did. The Later episodes were great - it felt like I was watching a movie at the cinema!

Last time I was hooked on Hollyoaks was in 2007 as well!

Same here, although it was Max's death in 2008 that last had me properly hooked. Agreed about the Later episodes, none stop action.

A spoiler for friday said tragedy strikes for a couple, so I'm guessing it could be another death.

I don't know why, but every time I read about tragedy for a much loved couple, just when they thought they were safe, Darren and Nancy pop in my head! I really hope not.

Is it definitely to do with the the crash? Baby Oscar seems to have been forgotten recently. Maybe we've been lulled into a false sense of security about his condition. Really hope it's nothing to do with him.

I'm assuming them as much-loved couple doesn't fit anyone else. Though maybe Jack and Frankie. Or in a way that I don't agree with them being much loved Jonno and Ruby as they might think their ok but one of them has internal bleeding.
It's not Ste/Doug thats the first spoiler and Sineads the second

Surprised they killed off Rhys. he's been in HO the best part of 10 years.

Will they be bringing him back from the dead like they did Warren, when the actor can't find work anywhere else and wants to go back?
Probably.

I was thinking much loved couple doesn't fit in with many, people saying Ste or Doug... but would one dying and one being heartbroken be described as "tragedy strikes for a couple" it doesn't really make sense... but you're right about Jack and Frankie too, it could be Ruby? Really hope it's not the little baby but I can't stop thinking it makes more sense the way the spoiler is worded...

You never know, they might do. Gordon Cunningham returned for six months as a ghost in 2004. Who knows...

They gave him the proper send off and basically took a couple characters with him to save a bit of time. Rhys' character was finished any ways, there was no way back for him.

The bad news for another couple could be Rhys' final letter that exposes Cindy, Tony hinted Cindy wouldn't get away with it so it could just be those two rather than another death.

Be interesting to see who is blamed for all this, Maddie for stealing and speeding (but now dead), Esther, because the teens will pin it on her. Bart because he was the reason Maddie was speeding and running from a scene of a crime. Could see a couple more departures next week.
