ONE-DAYS: A SENSE OF DIRECTION
Syco/Columbia's Young Guns On Track for Golden Bow; We Also Forecast The Weeknd, Twilight, Xtina, More

November 14, 2012

It's beginning to feel a lot like the holidays, and not just because we're already plowed on eggnog.

Syco/Columbia's One Direction is expected to sell a teenage riot of 525-575k on their way to #1 this week, and while nothing else in the current crop of debuts will put up numbers like that, they're all likely to end up under the tree, in the stocking or appended to a mesh bag of Chanukah gelt.

I guess this makes them officially the most successful x-factor act ever.

No I don't. What is Boxing Day in the UK? The day after Christmas is usually when people do more shopping with their gift cards or to pick up some post Christmas deals. It's not a holiday though.

For God sake, some people really do have issues with the band being successful. I'm not a fan of them, however I'm not their target audience. If I was 11 years older I suspect I would be obsessed with them. What's wrong with music for kids/young teenagers? There's music for older people, so why not for kids?

A-HA were pretty good - they wrote their own material as well. The 'Take On Me' video is a bit of a classic.

can't verbalise enough how exciting this would be!! 1D debut and sophomore albums both debut at no1 on the Billboard Chart in one year!!

People tend to have a lot of issues on here. When ever someone is successful they like to tug them down

Wow! They really are HUGE over there. They've gone from selling 176,000 copies in March with their debut album to possibly selling over 500,000 copies in the US this week

That means they'll have a bigger opening than Justin Bieber who opened with 374,000 copies with his Believe album in June. 1D are Taylor Swift are officially the biggest teen stars in the US.

Let's just hope this album with have longevity just like their first album which was in the top ten for more than 20 weeks.

Yeah, well done to 1D .
I can never understand hating on someone. Yes I hate Robin Van Persie for leaving Arsenal (on my birthday as well ), but there is no point bitching about it because it will get me no where.

Once again well done to 1D, making history for themselves
