Why didn't Jono go back for George and Maddie after gettimg Ruby out?

It seems disappointing for Maddie to leave Neil to die only to end up dying herself minutes later. I also don't think killing her off does much for the bullying storyline.

I actually thought Maddie was an excellent character simply because she was hated by so many fans. That was exactly the purpose of her character and it came across well.

I'd have preferred to see a little bit more of Maddie and Esther as well as Maddie suffering a lot of guilt for leaving Neil to die and trying to hide what she did from the others.

maybe she could turn out to be alive after all? ..... I know this is sooooo unlikely, but it is Hollyoaks lol and an emotional, in shock teen, could easily have missed her weak pulse?

The premise is correct, they were wrong with Neil but I think Channel 4 have already confirmed Maddie's death.

I agree. I really liked Maddie, because the actress played her so well and she was a really convincing bitch. Her demise was fantastic though!

I think thay confirmed the three deaths on the website. I do think it was meant to make sure we didn't feel sorry for Maddie when she got splattered! I think if she got out the van and called the others over, they still wouldn't have been able to save him in time and I do think, even evil Maddie would mention to her mates he was still alive and call them over. But, HO wanted to remind us she was a cold hearted bitch and that's what they did!!!

I never thought I would be sad for Neil exit, I did think he was a pointless character and sometimes even said I wished all the sixth formers would die but I found myself feeling sad, he wasnt a vile person like the three bitches and Bart, and the way Maddie looked at him and just left him was very sad.
Also his friends didnt seem that sad or affected that Neil had died.

I'm glad Maddie dead, though I hate it she died a hero.

hollyoaks did a good job of making us feel sorry for neil.. cos no one liked him when he was alive, so they are making sure the character leaves SOME kind of impact now he's dead, and its worked... at least you won't forget him like many others who just vanish...

I hated silas and they didnt kill him off! and I dont hate maddie because theres still so much we could have seen from her, Scarlet is a brilliant actress!

I don't think Maddie was that good of an actress, she used to be dire though she has improved slightly.

Neils exit was bigger than the character itself,i think that with the fact he was a nobody,never got a decent SL & with next to no character development,at lease he got an exit that will go down in hollyoaks history

Same, I thought she was just going to be disfigured but when Jono confirmed it I was very happy.
If they showed her death on HO later we would have seen her face after that piece of metal smashed it.

The bullying story line could still continue with everyone saying what a fantastic human being Maddie was. And Esther having some sort of a melt down and telling everyone how vile Maddie really was. This could turn Esther on everyone.

This forum is so upside-down and I love it. Loads of people were calling for Maddie to get axed and that Scarlett was a terrible actress and now that she is gone loads of people are vocal about how great the actress is. She is fantastic though! Wish Neil was spared, he was my favorite of the group, but after yesterdays heroics I've started to come around to Jono.

Watching the episode again on channel 4 now,best episode so far!

I've started watching HO again recently mostly because this week was coming up. I've been really enjoying the crash episodes but I LOVE LOVE LOVED Maddie's final scenes. Bitch got Final Destinationed, it's almost like the new producer hated her as much as a high number of viewers.
