i wish they would stop having random celebrities on the christmas special, i thought the aim of it was to get A list celebrities and not once have they done that, i'd much rather see previous contestant compete

That was what they used to do - they had previous contestants compete - I like the change in the Xmas special the last few years - celebrities who can't commit to a full series go on the SCD Xmas show to have experience on the dance floor and I like that a lot.

trouble is they only seem able to commit a small number of hours to training for it, so the dances arent usually of a very high standard.

Yeah that's true but John Barrowman's quickstep was pretty good - I enjoyed it.

I thought Fern Britton was marvelous when she did the Christmas Special with Matthew. They danced fantastically together. I often wonder why great teachers like Matthew and Ian are no longer working on Strictly as coaches. Very odd.

Because the then Executive Producer Moira Ross decided to get rid of them! They were both offered the chance of being in the "Dance Troupe" - Matthew turned it down flat as he wanted to concentrate on his own dance school, as did Lilia but Ian agreed to be in it, just to keep in with the Strictly producers and when the Dance Troupe were axed the following year, at least he managed to keep a profile with them and now has Waite's Wednesday Warmup on ITT every week and has been included in the Live Tour every year.

I know producers want to introduce new faces to shows like this but I really miss the pros who where there when I started watching (Series 3). Nothing against (most) of the ones we have now, but I'd love to see some of the others back occasionally!

I would prefer an Xmas Special featuring some ex champions plus Katherine Jenkins too bearing in mind her excellent series of Dancing With The Stars where she came 2nd. She was a phenomenal dancer.

Katherine Jenkins was on The One Show last week and was asked about Strictly Come Dancing, she said she would have loved to have done it but could not because Christmas is a busy period for her which is why she did the American series which is earlier in the year. Makes me wonder how many other celebrities can't fit in Strictly Come Dancing because of other commitments in the period leading up to Christmas?

I would like to see previous contestants who have kept up their training since their Strictly appearance take part. Mark Foster, for example has come on in leaps and bounds so it would be great to see the progress made.

I'm predicting the line-up to include Jon Culshaw, whose been all over the show this year, Sian Williams and Paul Hollywood!

I'm predicting that someone from EastEnders (past or present) will feature
