The Hollyoaks hype keeps on coming, with it winning 'Best Continuing Drama' at the Writers Guild awards last night. Corrie and Casualty were shortlisted.

Someone called Nick Leather won it? I've never even noticed his name. I wonder what he wrote that was so good.

Fantastic

I really hope it starts getting its recognition now. I know it has a bad reputation, as I myself wouldn't have given it the time of day a year and a half ago. The only reason I ever got hooked was cos it was accidentally on in the background and I glanced up during some intense Brendan/Ste scene and realised this wasn't the bubblegum-teen good-looking-people-doing-f*ck-all programme I had believed it to be.

It's the opening titles and naked calendars that, for me, lower its credibility. But it IS credible, and when it hits - it can be amazing TV. More awards for Oaks!

Well done Hollyoaks.

Right now, the only soap where the good outweighs the bad.

I don't understand? Why did one writer win it?

Did he just collect it on Hollyoaks behalf?

He would have won it for that particular episode. So, the dialogue, and overall scene-setting, basically. So it must have been a very well written episode.

Oh did he? Thanks, Gaz.

Wow, that was ages ago, over a year! It's a really personal thing, but I thought Bede Blake's script for the Heist episode was better. And the last episode of Later. Maybe he'll win next year.
