I have often wondered if Coronation Street is realistic in this day and age. Are there still streets in Salford where everyone goes to the same pub and where neighbours know each other?
From what I have seen of Salford (the inspiration for Weatherfield), the terraced areas seem more run down than how Coronation Street appears.
It would be interesting to know if pubs like The Rovers Return still exist. I actually noticed a real pub called The Rovers Return in Chapel Street in Salford, close to the Manchester/Salford boundary.
