Must be something wrong with my entertainment values but OMG we have side by side Lisa complete with that grin again
this Saturday

It will give me a chance to say "no dear you stay watching I'll make the drinks"

I know. Yawnfest. I don't see the hype with these two. At all.

As much as I love Lisa's enthusiasm, and bless her heart, she does try so hard to get her footwork right, I do tend to agree with you.

However, having, on ITT tonight, seen Robin trying to teach her the samba rolls (a step that, given her size, is destined to look ridiculous) I couldn't help thinking they'd be wiser to stay side-by-side!!!

I wouldn't mind if the judges were prepared to mark her down for poor technique. They are patronising her and it's very annoying.

I think she said on ITT the other night that 'their fans want to see their signature side by side'. How could she know that? Is she going around asking people - I'm worried that she thinks she is better than she is. Why is Craig being so kind to her, does anyone think he is given two or three celebrities to slag off every year and told to leave the others ?

Yes, why is Craig so lenient with Lisa? I've always had respect for Craig as a judge, he's usually the only one who talks any sense but this year his marking is erratic and his sharp tongue directed at the wrong people. Louis a 6, Lisa an 8

I thought Craig seemed spot on with Lisa.

For me their dances lack any originality. Their hyperactivity and jazz hands don't do anything for me at all.
I did'nt know Lisa before I watched Strictly and am guessing a lot of her fans are coming from the soap she was in but I am at a loss to see why everyone thinks she's great.
Although she would get a point from me for her enthusiasm she looses points on her lack of grace and in my mind her steps are not clean at all. Perhaps Artem will do better with her this week than Robin has in the past few weeks.

Because he loves the over performing female every year, regardless of technique. He was the same with Pamela.

You may not have liked Pamela, but you can't exactly compare her with Lisa in terms of technique.

I can. Go back and watch Pamela's charleston.

Pamela was a better dancer but she'd been having lessons for a lot of her life.

I prefer Lisa to Pamela if I'm honest, I like her and she grates on my nerves far less than Pamela ever did. But Robin has to get more variety into their dancing or she's just a one trick pony.

Craig is a theatrical choreographer and likes people who perform. Lisa certainly does that - with gusto. For me, all her dances look a bit "samey" but she does have a good presence and sells the performance. She will never be graceful and elegant but she is full of life and joy in the dance.

I think that's what is lacking in Louis's dancing and why Craig is not as enamoured of him as the the other three judges. He's very clinical and technically may be good but he seems to lack heart and his facial expression in ballroom makes him look as if there is a bad smell in the room. I find him boring actually

Couldn't disagree more, it's Lisa I find terribly boring and samey same each week. I'm getting heartily sick of her side by side routine, Robin really needs to shake it up and introduce a bit more variety into their routines.

Pamela's Charleston wasn't perfect, but there was some swivel action at least. It wasn't all cheesy grins with Pamela.

I don't think Lisa is capable of good technique. She has peaked and has nothing more to offer. All of her dances have been pretty crap technically.

I don't think it's any less original than Brendan having to choreograph all his routines so they are as much in hold as possible, that's extremely tedious after six weeks.

Did she? How amazingly presumptuous of her? Who does she think she is?

It's glaringly obvious, isn't it - and so unfair to everyone else - apart from Victoria who is getting let off because she's an Olympian despite the fact that she's can't dance.

I had never seen her before either. I initially loved her spirit but I now I actually FF her because she gets on my nerves.

It's the air of desperation and the constant fake smiles to any watching camera - and the awful gurning. It's like panto. *shudders*

it never fails to amaze me the 'experts' in this forum she is dancing SAMBA a dance that is not danced entirely in hold

The comment from Lisa on ITT about their fans wanting to see their signiture side-by-side was actually said in retrospect about the start of the Foxtrot

It may or may not be a risky strategy, especially the longer it goes on, but I'd hazard a guess she and Robin are basing their dance style partly on feedback from people about their dances (which she alluded to the other night on ITT). That and the public vote keeping them out of the bottom two, perhaps? As I say, possibly risky, but there it is.

We also saw only a few seconds' worth of training where they were indeed performing in that way, so it's unlikely the entire dance is done in that style.

You're right in that samba doesn't have to be all in hold - in fact it rarely is danced all in hold.

But I think people are making the point that all of Lisa's latin routines so far have centred round an extended side-by-side section as the 'highlight', and it would be more interesting to see Robin vary the format a bit.

Loving Lisa and Robin's routines - they are always fun to watch and no more 'samey' than many of the other couples - tired of watching mediocrity disguised by being in hold!

Why do you have to turn a thread about the choreography of Lisa and Robin's dancing into an attack on Lisa as a person?
People who crticise others in this way generally have a rather inflated opinion of themselves.
I find it "irritating" how donwright nasty some people can be about someone they do not know at all.
Criticising her ability to dance is one thing. Criticsing her as a person is a whole different ball game!
How does anyone know her smiling nature is not 100% genuine unless you have met her personally?
