Do we know for absolute certain that Brendan is already in Dublin though? We actually don't yet. There's still a chance they would go together.

Oh sorry these dates confuse me haha

I really am swaying towards being removed from the country.

If your parent was ill or anything I wouldn't see this as life changing??
Unless they are dying and it's quite slow meaning you might need to be there months and months.

Pj is still filming though isn't he?? You wouldn't come back a few weeks after if your parent was dying

Ahhh I dont know just hurry up December. Most important month of my life haha!!
PJ is in NY at the moment and I think he's been there about a week now so he's obviously not filming at the moment. If one of Doug's family is ill or dying then why send over family members to tell him? I think they'd get him on the phone so he can go over ASAP, coming over would just be wasting time.

I had a dream Brendan propose to Ste with a padlock Ste was still in hospital and he was wearing Brendan's cross around his neck and they were just talking and Brendan held out a padlock and asked Ste to be with him forever, and Ste was in shock and took the padlock and asked why he's offering him a padlock and he said "come to Dublin with me and you'll find out, there's something you need to see on a bridge"

You're right mojo, but I meant in all other aspects as well it's been unfair, for Kieron as an actor for example being left out of Later or even having any good drama of his own, with the way Ste's gotten to be nothing but a bored undeveloping chaste plot-device that's just to be put with Brendan again next month almost just for favoritism's sake, for fansservice. I don't want tit for tat, I just wish they hadn't cheated and pissed their way here this much. And despite it all, my life still depends on them being together it feels like, so they get away with it. They win.

Brendan, but they wouldn't just make him look fickle at least for a twist.
Er hasn't Brendan been fickle for plots too - Jubilee Week, confessing to Doug about Danny's murder. No character is immune, it's not like Ste is singled out.

Of course it was a disappointment not to have Ste involved with Later. But he has years left for that if the story's right. He's just been involved in the show's biggest and most high profile stunt and week in years, I don't think he's hard done by. You know how right it is for both Ste and Brendan's characters to reunite so I'm surprised you call it fanservice when it's clearly been the plan all along. I wouldn't call the journey cheating at all either, I'd call it soap. It's exactly what I'd expect from a soap. It's unfortunately not the medium with ten characters that get an equal exploration where everything is driven by character. It's about twists and shocks and keeping people guessing. And even if the stories and plots haven't necessarily been what we'd have chosen for Ste - you know I'd watch him deal with family stuff all the time, but there has actually got to be a reason for it - he's still massively at the forefront of the show so he's clearly valued.

That's what I'm worried about Stug fans will hate Ste for leaving him at the airport and there will probably be other viewers who dont follow Stug/Stendan who also turn against Ste I just don't want Ste to come out of this being hated and slagged off.

I also dont see how they can go from Ste in a coma to Ste leaving with Doug. Sure an ammesia plot sounds about right but really?? It all coming back to him at the airport?? Hmm I think theres something else behind it.
Stug fans will hate it because Ste and Doug will be over. Ste's hated anyway, this is not going to change. A bit of drama where he makes his decision just isn't going to change this. I think if you're just going to look at it as a story and the dramatic potential of him choosing Brendan then it's going to be a good watch. It's not as if they haven't spent time re-emphasising Ste and Brendan's connection and feelings for each other. They have, for months. It's not like it's totally out of the blue. Nor is Ste leaving Doug or after the hospital, staying with, him. It's all buyable to me. I might not like it and I might not want to watch it, but that's a different matter

Brendan isn't the only one who can't stand to watch them any more, I wish I had the money to leave the country until it was all over.

I can't stand the idea of tearful Doug when Ste wakes up, I can't stand the idea of tearful goodbyes.

Just no more.

He wasn't at the airport. But I suppose that doesn't mean that he and Brendan don't go back together and we just don't see them.

I would too

But it would at least mean Ste and Doug break up at the airport, Ste takes the kids home, stays single for... I suppose we have a few days. During that time continuing to be snuggly with Brendan (which - if Brendan hasn't gone to Dublin - they could have been doing from hospital till Doug's departure, and I want that ) and then they decide to give it a go.

The most important thing for me is what triggers Ste's decision to give Brendan another chance - cos that's a HUGE decision. And it can't just be 'Doug's left'.

ETA: And mojo, agree with everything you say.

ETA2: I think for Ste and Brendan to reunite, Ste has to find something, or realise something, or discover something... or Brendan has to do or say something... I don't know, but it mustn't be about Doug... it has to be about them.

I think it makes more sense drama and soap wise for Ste to head off to Dublin to find Brendan They'll do the whole will they won't they? Thing even though we obviously know

Exactly! The whole point is they want us to want it. Ridiculously badly. And we do already, but now we have to want it even more because then the payoff is even better.

OT but Epic Last Song has just come on my iTunes and no longer does that make me happy

I can't wait until the Dublin stuff airs and they start doing Dublin montages to show off the city and the fact that they actually went there.

To the tune of Dublin Calling. :cool;

I think at the airport it may be a mutual splitting, maybe Doug can sense that Stes heart isn't in going away with him and he'll let him go and tell him to follow his heart or something or Ste will just ends things as they're about to board cos he simply can't go through with leaving everything (Brendan) behind and that's where his heart lies.
