Ste left Brendan because Brendan f*cked up majorly on countless occasions. Bloody fair enough. If it wasn't for Brendan's wrong-doings, they'd still be together.

I just don't want anyone to have the impression that if Doug apologies or redeems himself enough, there's another chance for them. Because there's not - it's not that that's the main problem.

That's why I think they'll play it that Brendan's disappearance makes Ste realise how much he's losing. It (hopefully) won't be anything to do with Doug's flaws at all. I want Ste to be sad and regretful about leaving Doug, and I want it to be really hard for him... but ultimately what he has to do. If he leaves Doug out of anger, it's just not the same.
