Hello
I have one program that I recorded onto my Humax foxsat hdr that I cant copy to a usb stick. I tried on the web interface too but the recording isnt listed. I took the hard drive out and xp wont read it so I tried linux, it wouldnt copy it either as it told me to change its name as it was invalid. Said it was nts file and utf.
The recording will play on the Humax though.
Anyone any ideas
Thanks

I think that it is designed to do that.

Look on the bright side, at least you can replay it even if you don't have a signal. Sky boxes don't allow that.

In the custom firmware there is a fix filenames package that removes odd characters. Give it a try.

If you ane not using DHCP on your Foxsat I would think both point to a bad DNS setting.

That is easy, it will run when you next reboot. (you may have to give it a few mins to do it's stuff)

Im getting cold feet, I realy want the recording. Is the file fix program safe.
I can access the hard drive over the network and there are three files associated with this recording Hardtalk.
First Hardt~4F.HMT second Hardt~4F.NTS and third Hardtalk as I renamed it.
Could I rename them or is fixfiles better.
Thanks for your patience.

You have to do more than rename them - the .hmt needs to be changed as well so that it points to the new file. If you can access it over the network would it not be easy to take a backup copy of the .ts. Copy it and let do its stuff. Rename the file you renamed to something quite different as this could cause a problem if the program uses the same name.as yours.

I have taken a backup over the network which does play in vlc media player so main problem solved. Thanks.
Now I can try filefix but I changed the filename of the ts file from Hardt~4F.TS to Hardtalk. Should I change it back so they all have the same filename with different extensions.
