I've seen him dance live a couple of times now and I thought he was fantastic. But I agree with comments on his choreography: for me very uninspiring as well.

Based on the reaction of the panel and the studio audience alone Robin seems to be doing an excellent job with his choreography! He has to tailor his choreography to match his celeb's ability.

I wouldnt dislike Lisa as I dont think she is in any way nasty or as you say a diva etc .But I would have a problem spending any lenght of time in her company . I steer clear of loud and over cheerful and in your face people .Just my preference , I find it hard to converse with that kind of aways having lots FUN FUN FUN people .
For the same reason I dont enjoy her dances much .Its all a matter of taste , I much prefer elegance like Kara or Harry .Plus I am bored by the repetivness of them now too

To the OP , I personally have seen all that much nastiness on here for LIsa , unless you consider an opinion of not liking that kind of repeteive dancing nasty

I agree with the 'repetitive' comment.

Smile, sashay, twinkle-toes, high 10 Robin, turn to face front, run ,run, high 10 Robin, shake hips, smile, smile aaaaaaaand repeat!

Highly likely as a Samba requires most of these elements.

I'm fairly neutral about Lisa. She 's not a bad dancer but would not be on my list of preferred finalists.

I thought that in terms of content, Lisa's foxtrot (like her other ballroom) was ok, although there were some things I wasn't keen on technically.

And yes a lot of the Samba is danced side by side, rather than bodies, facing each other, although not usually with both partners completely disconnected - lots of shadowing, connection though arms etc. The clip I saw did look a bit like disco dancing and so I hope it wasn't too representative of their whole Samba.

Incidentally, I didn't get the impression that the OP wanted the forum to be all nice, pink and fluffy from their first post or from any of their subsequent posts.

Anyway, I digress. Those with appreciative proclivities were, I suspect, becoming pretty pissed off with having the finger pointed at them for one reason or another, and in the poll & accompanying thread, many of the regulars voted for a sub forum. The final vote was actually pretty close - but enough to send half the forum upstairs.

Bad move. ”

I think if the current series couples were allowed downstairs for the duration thay would be a reasonable compromise and may help a more inclusive feel, encouraging more 'popping in.' The disconnect is very pronounced and rather sad, at least to me who used to enjoy popping into a couple's thread as you said to say well done or commiserations if applicable. The more posters down here the better as far as I'm concerned, it's churlish and self defeating to trot a line out of 'go to the attic then' as you end up with relatively few people and even fewer sane threads.

The appreciation thread posters felt insulted when the general population went in and posted something less than adulation about their idol. I gather that was how divorce and apartheid came about. If appreciation readers only want to go to the house of adulation I am not sure why they feel lonely unless there are insufficient mutual congratulators to keep the pot boiling.

What would be interesting would be to open a mirror-image separate Non-appreciation forum at the other extreme where no poster will be allowed to spout anything happy or complimentary -- Bile HQ.

It means the uncool amongst us (throws hand in air) miss out on meeting loads of folk on their thread who would add to the chat and serious discussion.

Also I think there's a negative effect on news sharing. Far from fans rushing to say Lisa's doing this... Louis said that... App threads often hold the news in, fearful perhaps of how it will be received at large.

I'd break down the walls if poss. ”

I don't think App threads are uncool, but even when in the main forum I didn't participate in my favourites' app threads because I found them too biased on the positive side.

Having favourites doesn't mean I can't have a balanced opinion about them and sometimes that might mean pointing out a negative. Unfortunately a balanced opinion is taboo on app threads generally - i.e. while it may not be negative enough to have FMs asking you to take it outside the app thread, you will most certainly be 'sent to Coventry'. And heaven help you if the couple you support have a relationship outwith the show. It can become almost repulsively stalkerish (I deeply regret glancing in the Ali and Brian thread when they were reported to have split. Teach me for being nosy).

In addition to being non-inclusive, there was good logistical reason to create an annexe for them. It may have worked combining everything in the first year or two when we only had 6 or 8 competitors, but once you have old partnerships still current in the main forum (someone mentioned Ballroom Bill and he was rarely off the first page, despite his appearance being from a much earlier series) plus app threads for pros individually, there wasn't room for much of anything else.

That was me - and I only made reference to it to indicate that even after all these years, I'd prefer to see that thread as opposed to SOME that habitually litter the front page and are constantly bumped to make sure they do so. I can't make it more obvious than that!

Anyway, I wouldn't want any app threads back in the main forum other than the current season's couples - and I don't necesssarily agree that app threads are unwelcoming if you're anything other than 100% positive. Most FMs are reasonable people who are more than happy to engage in debate about their favourites, providing one is generally supportive. Obviously if you wander in and decare that their faves are a right pair of t*ssers you might not receive a terribly warm welcome.

As for the stalkerish ones - yes, they do exist, but they do tend to be the long running ones which, as I indicated, should be lodged up in the attic once they're no longer current.

I'm conscious that I've been blathering on OT - I know this is a thread about Lisa, so sorry folks!

Several threads, in the main bumped up and contributed to by one person largely talking to themselves are far more annoying to have littering page one than the Appreciation Threads ever were.

One of the reasons why I am posting less and less, and thinking of leaving altogether.

On the subject of Lisa, she isn't my choice of finalist, but I'd be quite happy to see her for a couple more weeks. There are worse than her in the competition still, and she seems to be really enjoying the whole experience.

Yes both odd and interesting. And I hadn't heard of both of them before the series.

That explains why the whole world continues to reproduce apace.

I was referring to all the SHOUTY!!!! mispelled threads and I think Strictly Red was as well.

As for the other thread - maybe you're right. Hadn't thought of that. At times I'm finding it has a soupcon of perviness about it. Is it just me?

I'm no shrinking violet, and I know it's full of innuendos, but it has this sort of slightly sordid feel about it which makes me want to reach for the carbolic.
