The presenters and production of the U.S version is awful. However, the talent on the U.S version is miles, miles better than the UK.

I prefer the usa version. Purely based on the fact that they are all talented and dont do the gimmik joke act. Its being treated like a serious competition, all the us finalists are way more believable as artists. My only negative about USA is that the production is too loud, I can barely hear the song

Agree. The presentation is very amateurish considering it is a $5 million show, especially by the awful Kardashian who seems to be carried by her co-presenter at times, surprised the Americans (and Simon) stand for it as they are usually all about the presentation.

Also the backing music is far too loud, often you can hardly hear the voices of the acts over their backing.

Show-wise, I prefer the UK version. The US version seems very wooden to me, and doesn't lack the energy and charisma of the UK version.

Talent wise I can't say as I haven't been following the US one religiously.

I think the UK has better sound and host. They have been doing it for a couple of seasons so its understandable that they are better in mixing the vocal and track sound.

Terms of talent the US wins imo. No joke act. Plus they look like stars. Just a different standard of people imo.
Like Jahmene has good range but zero star presence or quality. His nervous laugh and ticks are just awkward. i can't imagine him leading a big worldwide tour. James is seriously too monstrous looking his music videos would have to not focus on him at all. Ella compared to all the teens in the US versions looks like their 50 year old mother and they have far better vocal control. The battle of the boybands is prolly a tie for me. Union J look far more chic than emblem 3 but a piece of wood has far more personality then them. Emblem 3 have ton of personality but a douchebags. So...

UK version >

The USA's judging panel is more exciting, but they don't give constructive feedback, just pointless comments most of the time (eg. Britney's "I don't get it" to CeCe's performance).

I think UK has better acts in general though, however USA standard was very high this week.

Out of the top 12 on X Factor USA, you'd be hard pushed to find two or three acts who couldn't actually sing.

I'm pretty sure the UK has little or no talent left.

Tried the first live show of the USA edition and found it unwatchable tbh. There's no one as convincing as Ella, James or Lucy. One of the teens sang the same song as Ella and gave a vastly inferior performance.

The talent in the US auditions was a million miles above the UK.

However, the actual show, the production, the styling, the song choices, the judges and the presenters are all shockingly bad. How the hell they could have such talented contestants and mess them up so badly is just beyond belief.

Demi Lovato is a hopeless mentor. All her acts were great before the live shows until she changed them.

I hate that she made Paige shave her head. Now she looks like a cheaper Rihanna, seriously.

Totally agree with this. Diva week led to predictable talent show song choices and ended up a pretty boring show. They have so much talent and I find myself fast forwarding a loot of the show. I felt like the same thing happened last year, the talent was great and the show felt so much better until live shows when it feels like they are stuck a few years in the past.

The uk show is vastly superior production wise, season 1 of the USA show was a lot like our show and I really enjoyed it but season 2 is a total mess, and the ratings prove this, he dumped Paula and Nicole for britney and Demi and it's done the opposite of what he wanted, the judges last year were so much better, however I'm glad he replaced Nicole as we now have her on the uk show and she is fantastic, I just can't get into the USA show this year however they do seem to have greater talent

I've found a whole new respect for Dermot O'Leary after watching an episode of the US X Factor. The presenters are awful. They don't seem to have a clue half the time which camera they're supposed to look at, what line they're supposed to say, they don't have any chemistry and they can't seem to think of anything to say to the contestants. And not a smidge of humour. Cringesome overall.

I agree with everyone whos says it's amazing how such an expensive show can have such shoddy production values.

I agree - those US presenters are dreadful, but the talent is very good. I'm really warming to Britney who understands how the young ones will have to cope if they win, and what they're going through as she was only a teen herself when she became famous.

Our judging panel needs reformatting, but keep Dermot

You're right, overall their talent is stronger, it's a shame all the other components of the programme are so amateurish.

Wish someone would give the American femal host some fashion advice - her clothes always look too tight/small.
