Manic Depression in soaps
Over the years we've seen mania , depression. Mental illness wise we've also seen paranoia, paranoid schizoprenia, anxiety, maybe post traumatic stress disorder.
But never as far as I'm aware a manic depressive exhibiting both depressive and manic symptoms at the same time. And yet mixed bipolar state-high and low same time does happen! Is it not time for some soap to portray it? And imagine as an actor/actress how they would feel! Personally I was all over the place!! |

Jean's certainly an obvious.
Most people think manic depression is either manic or depressed. In reality manic depression can be manic equalling severe mania, hypomanic mild to moderate mania, depressed mild to severe or mixed state. There's two main types. Some more manic, some more depressive. But a manic depressive rather than experiencing two types of episode which most people think of can potentially experience four! |

Lol it's the same thing!
manic depression is the old general term for it. Bipolar more modern but essentially it's the same! |

No you don't.
Not at all. What age are you? I'm 33 now. Growing up for me I was aware both terminoligies. More recently it's been bipolar. But as a bipolar sufferer term manic depressive equates more with me as meaning either manic or miserable! Giving hundred quid to beggars in street that's quality! Lol and not on CIN night. Just random! |
