Rylan's Definitely Peaked At The Best Time
There is no doubt Rylan has seen his popularity rocket sky high this past week thanks to his fabulous Spice Girls medley and it really has gone to show:
- He receives more votes than District3 and Union J - He's topping the 'Who's Your Favourite?' poll on this forum - Tweets regarding him have gone from being mostly negative in the early weeks to a majority being positive - Usually on YouTube his performances normally receive more dislikes than likes, however this week he has received a lot more likes rather than dislikes and this has been a gradual increasing trend. I think if this translates into votes this weekend Rylan can avoid the bottom 2 as I reckon one or possibly two of either Chris, Ella, Jahmene and James are scraping through week in, week out and it is now evident that Union J are not doing particularly well in terms of voting figures. I really hope he remains in the competition and makes it to the final as he is the entertainment and that's what I exactly seek out for when I watch the show week in, week out. I understand that there are more talented acts that remain in the competition, but they are simply not that exciting enough and are starting to become dire to watch. I would really question myself if I could continue watching with a competition minus the fabulous Rylan Clark. Can Rylan escape the bottom 2 this weekend and what are your thoughts on him? |

Rylan's a lock in for bottom two this week imo, no matter how good he is.

Sadly I think this will most likely be the case, however I can see him surviving definitely over Christopher and possibly over Union J.

I agree. I knew he'd get more popular as the weeks went on, but I wasn't sure if that would be enough to save him up until now. He's never actually been bottom votes either.
I believe that he can do it if all of his fans power vote, there's a good chance he'll be getting lots of casual viewer votes aswell for the entertainment factor if he does a "fun" performance tonight which I'd imagine he will be. We shouldn't be ruling him out but each week one less act can be safe so of course it gets harder, we just need to hope that the others have awful nights

I honestly think Ella ( my fave ) didn't do herself any favours with her guilty pleasure last night. I think it could be Ella and Union J

This is the first year I have no real favourite on the show.
IMO they are all dire ...... but ...... The only act that keeps me watching & entertained each week is Rylan, the curiosity factor to see what he's gonna come up with next ![]() 1 act that did surprise me and I actually enjoyed their performance this week, was Union J. Well Done Boys (not really into the boy/girl grps, I'm too old for that now)I would love to see Rylan get to the final and actually win this year His win would translate into two fingers up to Simon, Gary and the Producers

'Entertaining' contestants have bowed out in the past years of X Factor and people have claimed that they wouldn't watch any more, yet they clearly still did. This series on the other hand is going out with a whimper. It's time to lose the boring Rylan side show and start focusing on the few semi-talented contestants left.
I also think it is a mark of the 'younger' X Factor fans and their attention spans that it's beyond them to sit down and watch a person just sing a song well and that instead they need an over the top visual display to keep their interest. |

But we obviously have vastly different notions as to what constitutes "entertainment." There's nothing that he does, or that comes out of his mouth in terms of singing that I'd describe as "entertainment." It's as old hat and predictable as anything Chris Maloney is accused of, on the hour, every hour, but no where near sung as well, or accurately.. For me, it's a question of different week, same old shite..some camp disco dancing routine sung no better than can be heard at any karaoke bar across the world. A mediocre, run of the mill bartione voice which delivers the song fairly accurately but doesn't push any boundaries musically and stays well within safe boundaries pitch wise.. I'll give him 2 things.. 1. His observation about most people doing that sort of stuff in pop today are "miming," is probably spot on.... Correct, including some of the people he "looks up to." ..like that's any sort of recommendation. Possibly, these people mime this stuff live, is because they're totally incapable of reproducing what's cheated in the studio live.....yep he's live, but it's not a particularly pleasant sound to listen to, IMO. 2. For the first time, his comments to Gary Barlow, were about as close to instant wit as he's ever going to get. "X-Factor make some noise." Yes, please do, so long as it drowns him out. Rich. x |

I'd say most of his votes on Saturday came through his 'spat' with Gary.

Rylan's a big star already - as everyone knows who he is. My prediction for bottom 2 next week is James vs Union J.
