Also, I don't get the impression that Mates Rates are much better than what you'd get if you rang up as a potential customer and tried to haggle for the best deal. VM employees can dominate an unlimited number of people and the only criteria is that you are adding at least one extra service, so it's not that restrictive.

Just curious, I presume you pay the TiVo fee but no TV pack charge, is the TiVo fully functional ie 3 tuners HD etc?

o You will not get better than Mates Rates as a non-Mates Rates customer.

o Mates Rates is restrictive as the vast majority of Virgin Media customers do not have access to this rate. How many employees are there and how many customers?

I'm assuming so, yes. At the moment the Tivo is being used as a doorstop!! I need to extend the cable to another room to check it. If I'm paying the Tivo fee I'm assuming I'll get 3x tuners, HD and catchup.

I was being charged £83.65 for this until yesterday, so I phoned them up to complain and I managed to get it down to £79.35 until the price increase hits. I will then be paying £83.74 after the increase. So basically I won't feel the increase as I have just acquired the discount to cover it.

I wouldn't assume that, a virgin rep told me that you had to have M+ pack minimum in order to get any HD on the TiVo, that may have changed.

I'm not too fussed if there's no HD, the extra tuners are the main bonus for when I run out on Sky. Going to wire it up this weekend so will confirm what I get.

Not even sure if this is possible on My rates! Certainly not with the current deals I don't believe.

Maybe an old offer where there was no full Tivo surcharge for the extra box.

If you want a good deal on your Virgin Media package, working for them is definitely the best way to go though
