An entire top 8 without anybody over 40 is indeed a record. The most we've ever had before is a Top 6, in both Series 5 and 6 (depending on how you count Letitia Dean I guess).

Have to say the right result, I personally could not see any probable progressive possibilities.

The 1st imo - I just hate the Charleston - always have, always will.

I agree

Thank you Footygirl for confirming result and all those who gave us the info too

See you next week - loved Wembley but will be glad to see it back in the studio. Much more intimate xx

Good result, thanks to the posters

I'm pleased with that result. It was about time.

I don't mind Nicky as much as his pro. I just can't take to her. I don't know why they got rid of katya.

PS, in Devon it's cream first then jam.

Ah, but they're in 'no particular order' remember

I can't resist asking what the most nauseating dance is

I would think it is Lisa Snowdens "show" dance! Well it is in my book.

Agree, Brendan really shot himself in the foot with that one! Cringemarkingly awful.

I thought Vincent and Dani were brilliant last night and in my opinion deserved a 10. Quite honestly I am so irritated by Denise that I go and make a cup of tea when she and James dance. Ridiculous, they are BOTH professional dancers and she is brilliant but not a suitable candidate for Strictly!! We are all just watching a highly trained professional dancer, dance!! Simples!!

So many posters on this thead appear to have dance experience yet so many posters who like Denise will not admit that years of ballet, dance classes and stage school, never mind the years in musical theatre does not give her any kind of advantage over the other contestants like, for example, Fern!! Even Kimberley had a NON DANCING part in Shrek. As I have said before, learning a dance routine is difficult and many of the celebs find it hard to remember the steps!!! Denise can learn a routine an awful lot quicker than any of the other celebs due to her vast experience. They both dance like Professional Dancers, their routines are great but it is just NOT FAIR to have her in SCD as a beginner. How can Denise say she sat in a chair as Roxie!!!

I like Victoria too, and think that she is improving each week. I have found the negative comments tonight about Victoria totally unnecessary. Not witty or funny - just insulting.

Same! utterly UTTERLY dislike the stupid 'dance'!

BUT I thought Denise's dance was amazing - and actually (rare for me) thought she deserved 4 10s. It was pretty perfect and she deserved it.

Thought Kimberley was undermarked as well - she was amazing last night. Lisa's dance was a shocker, and although I love Michael and really think he has massively improved (and I want him to go much further) I thought he was very slightly overmarked.

Think it's the right result - and glad that Nicky is finally in the bottom 2 - I adore Karen but I find him cringeworthy on the dance floor and don't like to watch him.

I'm still suffering from Vincent's pink suit - and I love Vincent and I love pink lol but dear God the combination has made me spin and not in a good way! 2nd in my nightmares behind Anton's red suit!

Thank you for the spoiler results - appreciated.

Good result IMO
Soap box time
Please can we stop griping about Denise being a professional dancer? Like many of the celebs, she's been trained at a stage/drama school - a bit like Lisa, Dani, Kara, Jill Halfpenny - Tom Chambers is a tap dancer. It doesn't make them a ballroom dancer! They are just able to 'present' their dances a bit better and can probably pick up the choreography a bit quicker.
Also - sorry to go on - but I like Victoria and think she is improving. Mind you how the blazes they could dance a paso to that song was beyond me!!

I don't mind that she's had some experience - I really love watching her dance because she dances beautifully!

She's not the first and won't be the last - I know from someone very close to him that Austin Healey for example had 6-8 months of actual ballroom training for the show so he was well versed in the art before he started - there are many others who have actually done latin and ballroom and ballet before as well. Matt Baker spent a week with Darren and Lilia for the jive some time before he came on the show.

you can get people who can dance already - Kimberley, Alesha, Austin, there are all sorts of people who've been on the show - but can they dance Latin and Ballroom? The answer is not always yes - but Denise CAN and I think she's amazing! The reason she appears better than James is that I feel, and have for a long time, that James is not as good as some of the other pros like Pasha, Artem, Vincent, Brendan etc.

I'm delighted for Denise that she's doing so well - I don't always like her - she can be a bit of a cow! and people don't like someone who is a cow to be so good! I think that's the measure....but I love her dancing.

So sad I had to leave early last night. Just found the result and am mightily relieved. Thanks to the spoiler providers. Looking forward to meeting up again next Saturday when I'm sure I'll be full of beans again. I'll make some nibbles if you like.

I think it was the only result there could be.

Just don't like it when my favorie show gets transported to Wembley, much prefer the studio.

Thanks for the spoiler - right result (again) so something is working well this year. Toss up (for me) between Nicky and Victoria as the other couple in the bottom two.

You didn't like it then?

Interesting that you even put it below everything that Ann & Anton danced (unless 1 of those routines is numero uno in the stakes? )

Morning, I wasn't around for the result last night, have just logged on. Right result in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to watching SCD in the studio next week, I understand that more folk can see the show but as the saying goes Quality over Quantity!

Mornin' all!

Went out for a friends' birthday meal, so haven't seen the show yet. I'll watch it this afternoon. I love it when I know the result before actually seeing it. I can be super critical then.

So thanks a million (as always) to the spoiler bringers!
