I thought it would be Richard and Victoria and wouldn't have minded which one went. Thought V's routine was poor.

They're not going to in public. Previous contestants have had experience, but I can't remember anyone with the experience of Denise. Young Cosette in Les Miz as played by Kimberley is hardly the same as Roxie Hart or Paulette in Legally Blonde.
When they actually did some charleston in a very overmarked routine last night, it was almost the same choreography from the last duet with Roxie and Velma in Chicago.
I am sure that the public will see sense. I may need to remortgage the house to phone in as I can't stand James anyway. I do like her normally. I don't think she has done herself any favours by appearing in this.

I think people are missing the point here - if this were golf, it would be a pro-am competition. Professional and amateur! Its a pro-am dance competition and I don't think it is fair that rank dance amateurs should compete against professionals like Denise. End of.

Series One - Claire Sweeney had JUST finished as Roxie when she appeared.
I know Jill Halfpenny went on to appear (as Paulette?) in Legally Blonde many years after and will probably have had stage training (although there was probably not much call for THAT jive in Byker Grove, heee!)
And I am racking my brains to think of any other stage performers...
Emma Bunton - Stage school, choreo-ed routines
Louise Lytton probably benefited from stage school training
Rachel Stevens, etc etc etc
Most actors will have had some form of dance training, most pop singers will have been choreographed...
I like Denise, but I worry whether the James Jordan effect will kibosh her anyway - the odds on early faves tend to fall at the final hurdle.
Cherie Lunghi's CV apparently had that she was a professional level dancer, or something like that. I remember there being OUTRAGE anyway.

hi itnwas about 1000 times better live and it being at Wembley
will put more when home as got to get back from London to Manchester but met nearly all dancers and celebs
Being trained at a stage/drama school does NOT make them professional ballroom dancers!!! It just means that they know how to present the dance better and can probably pick up the routine quicker.
Meant to do this last night but my internet was down.

Kimberley was also Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical where she does a full dance routine and tap dances. She also went to stage school and taught at stage school. Plus she has had one to 5 choreography tuition as part of Girls Aloud

Well, the thing about Victoria, as some of you are saying, is that she jsut doesn't really imporve noticeable. I think she is very sweet - and actually quite beautiful - but somehow (incomprehensibly) her nerves keep getting in the way. I thought the bike was daft, just a PR stunt really and left Brendan cape swirling for too long.

Her improvements have been more in the performance capability - she is gradually losing some inhibitions.. but just not speedily enough.
It's always the way though isn't it...
Performers have no issue with that side, and some can pick up routines if they do it a lot in the "day" job (singers etc)...
Sportspeople are used to being coached and perfectionists but struggle with the performance of it...
We, of course, just excel at watching... with perfect extensions and expert analysis
Coming to the thread late this week but grateful as usual for the spoilers.
I did have a bit of a soft spot for Richard but think it was right that he went this week. Thought his dance had very little content - anyone else think Erin let him down a bit with that one ?

I think it was a dance he found hard to master, based on the training videos we saw.
Earlier, cant remember when, we were told that the pro dancers get choreography help for the salsa, charleston and AT, as it's not their specialisms.
