Well, the programme is already recording and I think that I will give it a full hour before I start watching it as, if last year's Wembley edition is anything to go by then the programme will have very little to do with dancing, in the true sense.
After last week's refreshing and pacier show, tonight's is going to be harder to stomach. I shall have my finger on the FF button for a lot of this show

Last week was such a refreshing change with Tess and Claudia....

I agree my patience is being tried tonight too...and Bruce's jokes etc really seem to spoil the flow and stop the excitement.

Don't like any of it tonight - the camera shots are too far away I doubt that the live audience can see very much either.- the sound is more echoey than usual. I just prefer the intimacy of the studio. I don't think Brucie can read the autocue, yet he's more full of himself than usual.

and unnecessarily nasty with Richard.

D'you reckon !!! I agree with the OP, he gets on my nerves. I watched the first bit with him and Tess on mute.

I really can't stand Bruce (or Tess really). Tess at least redeemed herself last week by not being too bad in the Bruce role. Bruce really needs to realise that we are watching SCD and not the BF Show - so much time wasting and pathetic jokes.

The only reason I watch the show live is the discussion thread. Otherwise I would record the show and FF through his inane comments and the sections in the Tesspit.

Bring back Tess & Claudia. Last week was sooo much better without Brucie.

Can someone at the BBC remind Forsyth that it's NOT the Bruce Forsyth show, he is not a judge so he should know when to SHUT UP! He is really ruining the show.

Last week was simply far more professional in the comparing by Tess and Claudia & their respective roles.

Yes, Richard's joke failure was embarrassing enough without Bruce rubbing it in (of all people!).

God yes I was annoyed by Richard but for Bruce to be so rude to him was unneccessary

Last week with Tess and Claudia felt strange. You have to have a man AND a woman as presenters on these types of show and I honestly don't see anyone stepping into Brucie's shoes.

Maybe he's done what Bruce should do, and moved on

I agree it did feel strange - it flowed better, it was a lot more interesting, and the presenters just got on with their jobs, and did so really well.

Not like it usually is - all other weeks, it is ruined by Brucie's inability to read an autocue correctly and his misbelief that it is the Brucie show, when it actually isn't.

Yes, last week did feel strange - strange but good!

Why?
I agree that 2 presenters is a good idea to keep the "flow" going, but surely what you need is two good presenters.

I used to love Bruce when he was at his peak, but that was a while ago

Really? Ant and Dec have managed to co-host similar shows for over a decade, unless you're saying a MAN is needed to host a TV show? Which will be news to the likes of Cat Deeley.

Strictly is the sum of its parts, as demonstrated when Arlene and various pros left the show - remember all the hysterical predictions of the show's demise?

Last week's Bruce-less show was the highest rated of the series - says it all really.

I think he must have heard about the blacklash against him after last week's show and so he was trying to impress tonight, but he was awful. I usually stick up for Bruce, but tonight's show was a reminder of how good it was without him last week.

Mr Saturday Night will never be forced out of Strictly, not by the hair on Brucies chinny, chin, chin.
