Pete Doherty - What a c***
Pete Doherty is not a God - he is a stupid little boy that is setting a terrible example.
It saddens me that he's getting such press coverage. Fingers crossed he'll O.D. very shortly. |

Everyday it seems "oh Pete has done this, Pete has done this", and people are lapping it up.
Some people are excusing it by saying "he is only being Rock 'n' Roll, even Lennon took Heoroin and Keith Moon didn't turn up to some gigs" The difference being, Lennon and Moon weren't *******. |

Marrows, i agree with everything you have said about Pete except when you said "Finger's crossed he'll OD very shortly". Thats just a bit out of order and taking it completely out of context.

Pete is nice guy, I've met him twice and he was definetely not a ******. Nobody (apart from the NME, but we won't go into that) is saying he's a god. I can understand why people don't like him, but wishing he'd die is completely out of order and makes you seem like the c***. How old are you anyway?
You hate him because he's in the papers a lot and you think he's smug? That's the worst reason for wanting somebody dead I've heard all week. Plus, where did the 'thug' bit come from. Where has Pete acted like a thug? Have you even met him? |

Pete has a drug problem. Does make someone a c***? In my opinion...not really.
And is it really Petes fault that hes always in the papers and magazines? Surely that would be the people who choose what goes in them? |

PETE DOHERTY was pulled off the stage by his management and "completely lost it" as part of a chaotic gig at the BLACKPOOL EMPRESS BALLROOM last night (December 15).
Doherty’s new group Babyshambles played at the venue as part of a UK and Irish tour which has already visited London, Belfast, Dublin and Glasgow. Fans at the show have contacted NME.COM, concerned at Pete’s physical state at the gig. They say he was forgetting songs and at times could barely stand. Things got so bad that the rest of the band walked off stage. One fan told NME.COM: "Everyone can see he wasn’t well. Pete was looking really bad, forgetting his lines and almost falling to sleep. Members of the band kept having a word in his ear but a few songs in the guitarist just got fed up and left. The rest of the band followed and Pete tried to play on his acoustic." Other fans have claimed that a member of the band’s crew physically attempted to remove Doherty from the stage in a headlock. Another said: "Pete played about four songs before the guitarist stormed off. Pete looked bemused and the rest of the band members decided to leave the stage. He played a couple of Libertines songs on his guitar and carried on. But a member of their road crew was buzzing around him on stage after every song trying to get him off. After about half an hour of the set someone came on and eventually dragged him offstage in a headlock to a chorus of boos. "When they came back on the crowd were really angry. They were throwing bottles at the stage and shouting abuse but the band carried on and played a couple of songs including ‘Killamangiro’. The band went offstage again and Doherty followed them shortly after. "The crowd were getting more and more pissed off at this point and people started leaving. When he came back on at about midnight, he started playing a few Libertines tracks and he seemed to come round again. They tried to get him off again. But Pete tore his T-shirt off and dived into the crowd. He then climbed on the speakers. He was going mad. He didn’t have a clue what he was doing." From the gig, Pete then went to Liverpool for a second show at the Zanzibar. Fans there have said the performance was just as bad. One told NME.COM: "He played without his band last night and it was bloody shambolic. He turned up two hours late and played some awful songs." There is currently no comment from the band’s official spokesperson. |

Pete Docherty is an unfortunate victim of media hype.
Ever since the NME hailed them as the new saviours of rock (surely a joke which has badly backfired), they've had to live up to that expectation. Nobody seemed to realise that only their first 2 or 3 songs were any good. Magazines like the NME are under enormous pressure to sell copies - 3 out of the 4 weekly "indie" magazines have gone under in the last few years. If this means inventing a new rock and roll messiah, even if it's utter crap, then maybe they'll sell more issues. Unfortunately, they didn't bank on Pete Docherty being an out-of-control smackhead, so now the press are lumbered with an albatross. Meanwhile, Pete's condition continues to deteriorate as he fails to kick his habit, so he doesn't turn up to gigs and when he does he can hardly play. The fans won't put up with that for too long. Let's hope the kids see through the Emperor's new clothes and give up on the Libertines / Babyshambles. Perhaps then Pete can get his issues sorted out. |

Admittedly Pete has got some serious issues he needs to try and deal with. But i gotta say, and i know im not alone in this, that the libertines 2 albums were both pretty damn good. It is a shame to see someone like Pete struggling so much, and being in the public eye certainly aint helping him get through his problems.
Saying u wish he'd OD. I mean come on. How can u possible say that about another human being. And your "explained" reasoning. Dont think they quite cover wishing someone would die |

Talented- but still not as talented as hes made out to be.
NME have built up Pete Doherty + The Libertines so much its untrue. I like the Libs but I was very dissapointed with their recent album Up the Bracket was great ! |

Yeah. Admittedly he's not any sort of hero of rock and roll. But i actually liked new album better than Up The Bracket, although i realise that i am part of a minority in thinking this
