Not quite sure of your meaning (on Girls Aloud?) but what about Victoria, the bike and the Team GB outfit? - if that wasn't shameless promotion I don't know what was.

Yes she has experience but on the same token you could say that the majority of actors have been to stage school where they learn acting, dancing and singing; equally you could state sportsmen and women are at an advantage for being much fitter physically, superior stamina, more used to the rigours of training, naturally more supple/nimble etc.You could also say that singers / pop stars etc. are used to strutting their stuff on stage. The only thing Denise has over the rest is previously appearing in musicals. All I am saying is you could make the case for advantages for other contestants too.
