Wii U confirmed to have Wii Mode system built in to console.
It's been confirmed that if you want to access previously downloaded Wii-Ware and Virtual Console games bought via Wii or even previously bought Wii games on your Wii U system, you will have to go a seperate Wii Menu, with full access to the Wii's Mii Channel, Wii Shop Channel, BBC iPlayer Channel other downloaded titles from your Wii System.

That sounds stupid imo, you might as well just keep the Wii (and also Wii U cant "do" Gamecube games). I have a number of them I want to keep

I can see the sense in them keeping it to be honest. Makes it alot easier and familiar for everyone who has had a Wii.

So is there a new Virtual Console channel for WiiU and more retro titles are going to be released?

Fair enough but if you want to play Gamecube games you keep the Wii, no?

The question is if you will be able to "upgrade" your old wii VC purchases to WiiU - if they will do it for free, a nominal fee or make you straight buy them again. |

Not sure my kids will be too impressed with that considering the Wii is going in their room. Wonder if I transfer their save files to another SD card will I be able to put them back after. |

I think so... I hope so! lol. That was what I had in the back of my mind when I saw the video. I still want to keep my original Wii.

Will older VC games (on the SNES etc) be optimised for 240p on the Wii U? They look awful blown up to 480p.
