Yes, it really depresses me to see that he is looked upon as a role model by young and old.

IMO about 90% of the post on DS are judgemental I believe the rules state that you must not be critical about other posters although sometime that is difficult.

Dani is not the only actress to have tattoos - Lea Michele who is an actress in Glee (therefore spent the last 3years playing a schoolgirl) has 11 and they are covered up on the show with make up. I would guarantee she is not the only one. I'm not an actress but at every job interview Ive had in the past few months Ive made a point of asking if I would have to cover up my thigh tattoo and all have said no so I think theyre becoming far more accepted than some people may think. People have mentioned the percentage of people who regret their decision but no one has mentioned the portion who don't.

I didn't mean to imply people shouldnt be giving their opinions on them, but I think a lot are personal attacks which are unnecessary. I come in to read opinions on peoples dancing not to criticise their characters or appearances.

It's strange that it's the people with tattoos (in the main) that declare no-one can criticise them. Yet I'm pretty sure they are not above criticising hairstyles, dresses or dancing technique. I'm not against them per se however I do believe that in time most people will ultimately regret having them in whole or in part. In Danni's case I think it was an ill judged decision to have her legs tattooed in the manner of patterened tights. Seriously, does lingerie really cost that much?

If there is a rule about being critical of other posters then I am not breaking that rule.

English is my second language so maybe my point is not clear.

Telling people do not judge me after judging others is like jumping into a fire then asking " Is that fire hot?".

I believe there is an old saying " An eye for an eye" .

I asked myself this while watching - then began to think I had imagined she had tattoos earlier in the series!

He even went as far as having a tattoo stamp on the back of his neck, which he tries to cover up now which says it all.

Well I'm not an actress and I don't wear mini skirts in puplic so its not really an issue for me.

I do think she has given herself something for her employers to take against. Her profession is all about people judging her to decide whether she would be fit for a role.

Why give herself one little thing for them to judge her negatively on, when all is said and done she was an established child actress but hasn't made that transition to adult acting despite being 23 and thus at an age when she should be playing adult roles now.

What a ridiculous thing to say! I have 19 tattoos, I love every single one, but not one is there because of Beckham. I cannot stand him.

I think tattoos are beautiful (with the occasional exception - the guys who cover their entire face being one...). Dani's tatts are lovely. It's her choice, her body. Leave her alone for goodness sake!!

It is ridiculous the amount of influence Mr Beckam has over others, he is avery poor role model I agree.

To me, the difference is that the hairstyles etc are part of the show and Danis tattoos are nothing to do with it. In my opinion it's like saying "I really liked Nickys dance last night...but I really hate his wife!" They're completely separate subjects to me.

Patterned tights are between £7 and £16 a pair. They can last a fair few wears but all to often are only worn once & then ladder. Doesn't take long to make the price of a tattoo at that rate.

Perhaps on this occasion it was felt dramatic tattoos were not in keeping with the 60's. IIRC the style of the day then was anchors and busty ladies on mostly sailors & lorry drivers.

But why does it matter? Maybe they felt they were not in keeping with the routine or something, who knows.

If Dani has chosen to get tattoo's it's her business and no one else's.

I know quite a lot of people both male and female who have tattoos. I almost had one myself many many years ago but chickened out. While I don't like lots of them, I think they can be quite beautiful works of art. I do however have a friend who has spent a lot of money trying to get rid of one she had done when she was younger and I'm sure she's not the only one to ever have had one and years later regretted it.
I was surprised not to see Dani's last night as I've gotten used to seeing them although at first they were distracting and I did wonder if she bowed to pressure from the producers or someone else to have them covered up for Wembley.

And what does it matter to you that I want to know I am not the only one I suspect that would like to know. Who said it is not her business.

I don't like tattoos on men but women definitely.. no no

I must say that I hadn't noted Victoria's much larger and more prominent tattoos on her right forearm

Then I hadn't really noticed Dani's tattoos either.

But yes I don't like tattoos at all on both men and women - or indeed piercings more than a pair of ear-rings on women.

Simple enough to use temporary tattoos when you want to make a point.

Sure people have the right to do what they want to their own bodies but I have he right to judge them. Not a moral issue. Just a bad taste issue.

If dance is all, then all dancers might as well wear masks, and all women can cover up from neck to ankle.

Strictly is prejudiced before it starts. Regardless of dance, Strictly recruits young goodlooking performers leavened with a few old plain persons to provide contrast. If Strictly were to put on a show comprising of only Man-in-the-street and Woman-in-the-street it will not draw 8 million viewers.

Persons going to Speed-dating go in with preconceived preferences. All actors and dancers auditions are prejudiced, and there never has been a law against same, because the audience is prejudiced. Customers want to watch what they pay to watch. And why not? It is freedom of choice, how to spend their own money.

This forum gets into endless arguments about rudeness and nastiness. As an appreciation room has been opened for appreciative threads, I see no reason why an Unappreciation room cannot be opened to house threads like this one.

I am afraid if Danni is happy to receive unsolicited compliments on her beauty she would have to expect the other side of the coin.

I teach towards an Employability qualification and it has to be said that personal presentation is hugely important.

I advise students not to have tats anywhere they might be visible in the summer. So for girls that includes the lower leg. Fact of life. Could put off a prospective employer at interview stage.

That's what I advise. Students don't have to follow that advice. But, if you want to make the best possible impression, I think it's a good tip. Don't get tats.

A 50 year old friend has a tat on her forearm - MUCH small than Victoria's. She covers it up with a sticking plaster. I asked her to show it to me and she did. Then told me that I was the first person to ask her about it and she had had it for a decade.

Were you aware of daughter #1 having the tat installed? Is it discrete and how did you react?

Tats plural!
She's 23 and had them done from about 19 onwards. I don't go ballistic over stuff like that. There are far worse things she could have done. They are all very well executed and the designs are attractive.

They aren't offensive. I do think, if she were to look for a professional job, the tats and piercings would certainly not go in her favour. When her rebelliousness runs its course I'm pretty sure she'll regret them.

It's fairly obvious from the way she dresses that she defies convention. That's her choice. But I don't understand why people who generally seek to conform get them done. Dani looks a fairly 'ordinary' girl (not in a pejorative sense) so why have something done that's associated with being trashy?

So how is daughter#2 reacting to daughter#1's tats? Is she going to follow or wait and see or going to rebel by not having them?
