He said it was the best charleston he had ever seen on Strictly, and he gave Ola and Chris's charleston a 10 in the final; yet no 10 from him for Denise.

That was a 40 dance if ever I saw one.

He often does something so that he'll stand out a bit from the other judges. I think he should have said why he took a mark off. .

I'm sure I saw a definite mistake by Denise.
Overall the routine was very good, if you like charleston

Have to say Chris & Ola's Charleston was miles better than Denise & James Tonight...perhaps thats why no 10?

I suppose he could enjoy the actual routine more but it obviously wasn't perfect from his point of view.

It was a 9 for me. I just can't take to the charleston.

I would have given her 8 at the most.

Yeah I found that odd as well. I thought it was an amazing dance and definitely worthy of a 40, one of my favourite dances on strictly ever!

I felt he was the only one who retained his sanity when it came to marking that particular dance. I didn't like it at all.

Great score anyway and at least they did the dance they were supposed to do.

I don't like the Charleston, I think the only one I've liked is Kara and Artem's, but I really liked Denise's. I would say it was worth tens, but only because if you can make a Charleston look good on this show you deserve them.

I did wish the first tens wouldn't go to Denise, because of the whole "professional" crap it would do more harm than good. The Charleston is as new to her as it is to other celebs, even if she has danced before, so I don't see why her dancing well shouldn't be applauded as much as the other celebs.

Oh, was it really that good? I might have been missing something, because the song distracted me a bit, took some of the fun out. 9 seemed about right, I thought. Watching with my family, we all looked at each other and rolled our eyes when the 10s came out.

I expect Zoe will ask Craig why he gave a 9 on It Takes Two next week.

I wasn't keen on it. Loved the way James lapped up the comments re "His" choreography(sp)....it actually wasn't his was it? Choreographed by Charleston pro's?

Didn't like it at all, felt flat to me! Didn't think it was worth 10's

The judges liked it, but I didn't - each to his / her own.

I love the charleston, but that did not look like a charleston to me.

tbh as she was in Chicago she would have danced Hot Honey Rag which I think is pretty much a charleston. I don't really care though, she was the best on the night by far so gets my vote

I don't think it deserved tens. She lacked the charleston face as she just kept smiling, and this is something the judges usually pick up on but nobody mentioned it. I did think it was good though, but for me it would've been more enjoyable with an appropriate song which imo this one wasn't.

It was very good but Denise has not gone on a journey - she got on the bus at the terminus

Craig judged her as a pro..

I think I would have given a 9 as well. There was something missing for me, technically great and choreographically great too, but it didn't have that "je ne sais quoi". For that reason I would have marked Danny and Vincent higher, all the same pluses but there was a little magic in it. Megs

It will be the classic Redemption Ten for when she repeats the dance at the final and gets 40, imo.

Complete farce having her in the programme - you can see the training whenever she does latin and tonight with the Charlston. She's naturally got the pace; you only have to look at her leg action, spins etc to see that she's way ahead and whoever made the final decision to include her in the programme wants shooting. I don't care how many argue she's danced a different genre; she has got timing, rhythm and pace and that gives her an advantage detracting from the fun aspect of the programme.

I thought the routine was good and she danced it really well - however for me something was a bit off. It didn't have much of a wow factor - think it might have been the music - the beat was a bit dull.

It had no wow factor & the music wasn't suitable IMO.

Ah that would explain why I thought she was better than James....
