I agree with you completely. I think it was the music maybe - a bit laboured?

i thought he was going to give a 10 too.

I think James is one of the weaker dancers but I don't see how ms land on her feet is better than him.

James isn't one of the weaker dancers. He's brilliant.

I thought it was a really great routine and I loved the shapes she made with her arms and legs but for me a lot of it was ruined by the music. If she'd done that to the kind of music a charleston *should* be danced to it would have been joyful. The other huge negative factor was Wembley - it robbed almost every dance of impact. (Thinking of Vincent and Dani)

she did not deserve 10s she is favoured to much by the judges it makes me sick

They should have used the Bangles version; but I thought the dance was fabulous.

i really like denise, but i don't feel like it was worth a ten, and the reason for me was that, i kind of feel like a Charleston is more of a personal dance...chris and ola's was excellent, because, although not perfect, you kinda felt like you were in the dance with them...i think it was probably the wembley factor... hope i made sense :P

Loved it! The only other Charleston in Strictly history that's ever stood out to me is Kara and Artem's and this was almost as good. I think I liked it because there was something a bit dark, unsettling and freaky about it. Denise's face! And those snaky arm and head movements! Just great.

Most of the dancing in that Charleston came from Denise's neck! She and James did so much side-by-side mirroring, they looked like a couple of "Pairs" figure-skaters.

OK, it was a good routine, but not the best. Ola & Chris, Kara & Artem have been better in the past.

I'm shocked at some of the comments in here.

I thought it was outstanding and the dance of the series by far. I agree with Craig in that (for me), it is the best ever Charleston on Strictly. I was in shock at how good it was, I mean it was very intricate and there was lots of content and they were never out of sync. We booed when Craig gave it a 9 it was a 40/40 dance.

I think he didn't give it a 10 because of the music.
Be interesting to hear him say why on tomorrow nights ITT.

This is my least favourite partnership but, I loved their Charlston. I didn't think it deserved 10s but, it was a bliddy good routine that was only let down by the terrible sound quality at Wembley.

Craig may have given a 9 because the celebrity is not supposed to out dance the professional.

Craig doesn't give 10s this early, unless it's for a floaty light ballroom dance given by a girl who needs a bit of propping up in the public vote, and even that's only rarely. It's schtick. They didn't have Brenda do that asinine "here's your 10 paddle covered in cobwebs!!!!!" joke to have him then give one out the next week.

If Cola get 10s for their charleston then Denise deserved hers. 3 standout charlestons existed so far. Ali Bastian, Kara and Denise.(ok matt bakers was also good)

Never!

Yes, the right couple got tens - but for the wrong dance. Had they been given for Vanjam's Jive and/or Viennese Waltz and/or Paso, then I'd be in full agreement.

Zoe will probably quiz him on it in tomorrow's ITT

I thought it deserved a 10 on last night's inflated scoring. But perhaps a 9 would have been more realistic. Watching it again, it was close to perfect..just a brief moment of hesitation at one point was all I spotted.
I enjoyed the routine, and think it captured the zany 1920's "flapper" with a little added twist. Yes, she's a natural, but her previous dance experience was in a completely different discipline. There have been others in earlier series who have started with a similar advantage, but they didn't attract the same level of vitriol.
Some people obviously dislike Denise for personal reasons, I guess that's the way it goes with any of these celebrity shows. Just imagine what it would be like if Nadine Dorries had entered Strictly !
