The camera was panned out too far on most of the dancing making most of the dancers and celebs look like little dots.

Apart from that it was a good show, if only we could have seen more of the actual dancing.

I remarked earlier that aside from Louis, I don't know that anyone would have done a better *insert dance here* at this stage than they did. I don't think Dani would have done a better QS, Michael a better AS... But that the dances were ruined by the scale they were on. Dani's dance was lost. Kimberley's dance was lost. Both of these could have been really "wow" dances in the studio.

But I really hope that when they do get back to the studio, they leave the backing dancers in Wembley.

I actually found the whole Wembley excperience magical and the atmosphere electric.

Oh dear, I actually quite enjoyed it.
As a "one off" show, I thought it ticked all the boxes. Big, glossy and spectacular. I wouldn't want it every week, obviously. But once a year I think it works, and at least there were no really cringeworthy contestants this year.

It's the propaganda that its the best thing in the world ever, ever, ever that's galling.

The camera work was disappointing last night and the sound quality wasn't up to much - we say the same every year but no one at the BBC seems to learn. I felt the camera crew were more interested in tracking the special effects from the light show than showing the dancing - so much was missed out. You wouldn't think that they had had run throughts of all the dances from what was seen last night. It is a dance show not a special effects show and when production values triumph over dance content heads need to roll!

And the main thing is a lot more fans get to go and watch, oh and some dosh for children in need that they dont get from phone votes anymore, and those fans alos dont have to queue for a chance not to get in!
As a member of the audience, it was awesome

I was wondering how the judges could possibly mark properly as feet and lower bodies were obscured when they danced on the other side of the podium thing??!! Plus, how can you see couples footwork on the other side of a massive arena floor from where they were seated? I was half expecting them to get their opera glasses out!

I did like the idea of Erin's Island and the dolphins and turtles swimming around it.

The dances all suffered when they were stretched out.

Lisa didn't dance a Samba.

Whoever wanted Louis's gymnastics in the AS was wrong.

Victoria's Paso was a bad concept from start to finish.

There was no light and shade or connection from the music in what was otherwise a good Quickstep by Vincent and Dani.

That was Louis's worst dance in many ways and the whole thing didn't gel at all.

Nicky's dance would have had a better chance if they had just done a routine on the plinth.

Denise's Charlston was good but not a 10.

Kimberley's Samba was OK and a huge amount better than Lisa's.

Richard's Salsa had very little content and wasn't danced well.

Michael's AS was simple and danced Ok but not special - its just most of the others were not good.

Nice to see Aliona back again.

The highlight was the dolphins and turtles - sort of sums it up.”

Absolutely agree with every point - sums up Wembley perfectly.

I loved it - maybe it's because I was there last year and the live experience at Wembley is brilliant.

Much too big and impersonal and what were all those horrid floor patterns about? The dancers just got lost - liked the sharks and turtles, though.
It should have been at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool - the home of Ballroom Dancing.
We should start a BBB - Bring Back Blackpool campaign.

The lighting on the floor was nauseating , the swirling and twirling and patterns meant I missed quite a lot of the dancing, I simply couldnt see them .
Except for the sharks in the sea , I enjoyed that it distracted from Richard at least

I agree. The camera angle after a few bars of music of Pasha and Kimberley's dance was awful. They panned right out when it was obvious a lot of footwork was going on

Sadly the TV experience, for 9 million of us, is ghastly.

It may be brilliant if you are there but for us TV viewers it is dire.

I thought it was an improvement on last year's show. Up to about halfway, they did seem to try to have camera angles that showed more of the dancers close up, and less of the shots showing a huge audience and dancing ants than they did last year. Then for some reason there were a lot more of the wide angle shots. I think they tried to learn lessons from last year where they were obsessed with the dancing ant shots, but if they do it again I'd like to see very few of the wide shots and concentrate on the dancing.

Absolutely agree with all these - it would be great to think the producers were listening to us, wouldn't it it! Wish I thought they would.......

Blimin' awful. It was a miserable show on all fronts. Horrible staging, costumes (apart from Nat), make up... and the dancing was below par for everyone. The camera work was dire, we missed most of the dancing in the bird's eye view.

I thought the judges were generally far too kind and overly generous with comments and the marking, and annoyingly (predictably) inconsistent. They seemed to watching a different show.

Bruce was terrible and Tess just as bad...and the band weren't that brilliant either.

Other than that, fabulous dahling.

Simple Fact 3, Tower Ballroom Blackpool's website suggests they had a bookings for Tuesday and Thursday as well as tonight. Don't know when those bookings were made, but given that the SCD set is available for rehearsals from Thursday onwards each week and that has camera positions already set up. The BBC/which ever OB company is used, would likely need to have been in Blackpool on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Question 1 : Would Kyle have been prepared to do the show at Blackpool?
Question 2 : Is there a better location that could have been used ?”

However Blackpool is the host to the British Nationals this weekend. Do we really think they should be postponed for reality tv?

Wembly was just awful.

Full of echo and the band sounded completely lost in the vastness and the dancers overwhelmed by it.

Horrible lighting effects made worse by the high camera angles.

The plinth in the centre was a big distraction - at times you couldn't properly seen the dancers because of it with lower camera angles.

Dreadful. Daaance Disaster.

Bring back Blackpool.

More than ever they needed a great song, costumes, choreography, production. What works for a studio does not work for such a vast space. I thought adding extra dancers to routines was a good idea, too. But I think it all came together only for Natalie and Michael, the rest D.U.L.L. darling.

I didn't like Wembley. The lighting was awful, the camera work was dire and everyone was just hysterical. Book Blackpool now for next year.

Wembley really doesn't work. Only Natalie's AS worked in that massive space.

I don't like Blackpool but it's a better size.
