Judges' comments on cue cards?
breppo

Do Bruce and Tess have the judges' comments already on cue cards? Tess is clearly reading from cue cards when she mentions their comments. Brucie at times seems to anticipate the comments. (stretch legs etc.)
Unless he's clairvoyant of course, which TerryM22 no doubt would love to add the Why-we-love-Brucie-so-much-and-why-we-want-him-to-go-on-forever list.

I can't be sure, but I guess somebody is writing down the judges' comments on the cue cards and then handing them to Tess.

As for Bruce anticipating the comments... the judges all have their ways and it's been 10 series now, he's bound to pick up on some of the things they mention often.

I doubt there's anything untoward about it. I imagine someone writes the judges' comments down for Tess because she can only function as a presenter if she's reading her lines.

Much if not all judge and presenter lines scripted and rehearsed/based on rehearsals I would guess.

That makes sense, in Strictly World not in the real one.
Would explain the geographical references Len so eloquently comes up with. He's had time to ponder on them.
So unless for instance Victoria had fallen from her bike, or something else had gone wrong, they stick to their dress rehearsal comments.

Len always sounds very scripted. I think Darcey might be more natural, perhaps working around some pre-arranged comments - I thought the same of Alesha as she would actually make comments on the dance like Darcey does. I don't think Bruno could follow a script.

Yes he does, of a kind. His talking about erection was as innocent a double entendre as any Cupid Stunt.

Judges do not attend for rehersals, including dress rehersals, i am sure len just has some stock phrases prepared.
I think i saw a runner with cards running to tess's area a few times last night, probably passing her the cards. She mainly focuses on the score compared to last week, so not that hard really...

Darcy has a reminder not to say "yah" in her book. Craig mentioned it off camera last night. She must have been reading the forums

when Jennifer Grey was guest judging she appeared to be reading

When Arlene Phillips was a judge I used to find her quite uncomfortable to watch because she always seemed to have difficulty expressing herself. Surely if she'd had a day to think about what she was going to say then she would have had a more apparent ease stringing a sentence together.

The judges come across as intelligent and eloquent people both on Strictly and in interviews so I doubt they need scripting. Also, I don't know about the other judges, but Len judges professional competitions so is accustomed to having to come up with on the spot criticisms that couldn't possibly be rehearsed.

Probably reminding herself of all the Dirty Dancing references that she wanted to shoehorn into all her comments.

But seriously, she was probably reading her notes. When the camera cuts to the judges during a performance you can often see them writing down notes.

She explained on ITT (?) why she had been saying it though she had realised it was so prominent until she saw the playback afterwards.
