If we're talking covers, I reckon he would be good at "She Will Be Loved" or maybe even "This Love" by Maroon 5.

"Unchained Melody"!

Ok, I'm only kidding!!!!!

Just a personal thing cos I got Robbie's Greatest Hits today, but I think he would sound fab singing "Angels", a bit cliched but hey!

Apart from that, I hope he avoids covers as far as possible!

You have to take your mind off the seXual ( AHHH, so that's what is meant by the X Factor ) vibes Steve gives off, just for a few seconds at least so you can think straight

I have to agree to that one My favourites from the shows were Smile and Higher and Higher. I really hope he does some original up-tempo tracks and not just ballads.

Oh God not Marvin Gaye, he would be a poor substitute (anybody would the guys voice is the best soul voice I have ever heard). Lose the soul songs Steve or do White Soul, Michael Bolton would be good

or by Teddy Prendegast, he should steer clear, Mick Hucknall has also done this and has a brilliant voice Steve should touch some songs with caution

She would be my fist choice/favourite, an absolutely beautiful song and would suit Steve's voice divinely.

Just One Last Look – The Temptations

Feel All My Love Inside - Marvin Gaye

IMHO instead of doing cover versions of classic Soul songs that he couldn't hope to improve upon - shouldn't he be concentrating on developing his own style and singing original songs?

There are plenty of new songwriters out there struggling to get their material heard so why can't BMG find / commission some of those to come up with some new stuff for him?

Also, exactly what market is Steve being aimed at - he's too old to appeal to teens so I guess he's looking at the 35+ age group and heading straight down the middle of the road?
