I missed that bit or went deaf temporarily or my TV had a blip?

Can't recall exactly what he said but I think Bruce was just trying to get him off the stage because he was outstaying his welcome once again by trying to win votes with his "fabulous wit".

Even so there are better ways of doing it than shooing him off like a parasite... Brucie is not someone I want to be near, esp. when he's confused and in a foul mood...

Bit of a pot and kettle moment then, surely?

Ha, I thought I'd leave it to everyone else to spot the irony.

Richard was being an idiot asking Darcy if she could see his VPL and saying nobody should wear white trousers. Bruce retorted, "I know what you're saying, but nobody's laughing but you. Get off!"

For once I agree with Mr Forsyth.

Maybe a bit harsh but to be fair there's not enough time in a live show for him to use the time for the judges' comments as a platform to attempt to gain more viewer votes.

That may be, but did you see anyone shooing Brucie off for drawing attention to himself? Brucie is supposed to be the one who smooth over awkward situation like this with wit and a smile, some sarcasm maybe (what he said in response to Richard was apt in writing, but not his temper and shouting), but certainly not a rude brush-off.

I'm with you JVS, he'd already alienated Bruce by kissing him the other week. He was just talking too much tonight. Without looking at any spoilers, I think that has have done for him.

I can't remember Bruce Forsyth ever waving his bum around like that but perhaps I missed that programme. Richard was just being an idiot and "parasite" is a good description of him.

A sportsperson behaving like that would probably be given a drugs test.

Richard also said "Go commando on the BBC! I don't think so" or words to that effect. Bruce seemed a bit sensitive about innuendo/risque talk tonight. He also said something earlier to Darcy along the lines of: Be careful what you say, people are listening?

Too much and for too long as usual.

Richard tries too hard to be funny and is the only one that laughs.

I wondered if they've had complaints about some of the gay innuendo and very queeny behaviour has seemed more marked this series (IMO)

I'm not watching with kids might ask for things to be explained and I think Bruce is either very conscious of the age range of the audience (or has a producer yelling in his ear to put a stop)

Yes, the producer speaking in his ear did occur to me as well. And you're right, there has been quite a bit of gay innuendo from the panel lately too. I can't remember what Darcy said earlier but that was probably something risque but not gay-related.

He also said that no-one should be wearing white pants after 1982 or somesuch, I thought he was saying that if you have a little "accident" from live TV nerves it would show ! Bit vulgar I thought although it could have been my imagination making that link.

Bruce refuses to use an earpiece on live shows...... The producers CAN'T tell him to shut up up or move things along.

He was making a joke to Darcie about not wearing tight white trousers after 1982 as you have a visible Panty line, he was not "showing his bum" to Darcie, merely pointing out the line, it was Darcie who said "commando" and Richard said "commando at the BBC I dont think so" then Bruce got in his face with his "no one is laughing but you" sneer and sent him packing, I really think you lot sohuld listen and try to follow a programme before having a go at people, Richard was just making a little joke, it was Bruce who blew it out of proportion when it was nothing to do with him.
And it was not the noise level, we all heard the way he said it, nasty.

That's not how I heard it. Richard was making a song and dance about white trousers, VPL (which needed explaining crashing the 'joke' further), then Darcy chipped in with the commando comment...the whole thing was dying on its feet and needed ending fast. Bruce's comment was brusque but it at least got a laugh from the audience and saved Richard from dying even more. Bruce's irritation showed but maybe Richard's attempts at funnies just aren't appreciated by some... I may be one of them!

I'm far from a Brucie fan, but absolutely thanks to him it ended on a laugh. He regularly tells contestants to "get off", but I don't think any of it is personal, it's just part of the act.

Fair enough, it just seemed like a off the cuff remark to speed things along on a live show to me but maybe I would think differently if i watched it again.

I found Richard quite amusing in the earlier weeks but now all his "witty remarks" have a very rehearsed feel. I'm sure he was prepared to make that VPL joke with Darcey before he even stepped out on the dance floor.
