I think that's a bit of "disinformation."
I don't think they'd actually dream of using Ronnie Corbett permanently, but if Bruce goes and they select someone who many people won't like (whoever it is), they think that many viewers will be thankful it wasn't Ronnie.
Ronnie dithers and digresses more than Bruce, he wouldn't be able to read the auto-cue fast enough... if at all.... and he's prone to falling over if any music is involved. (Amarillo).

I have given up watching SCD as I can't stand Bruce especially when he tries to dance and the noise from the audience is most disturbing and if the mute is on the dance can't be appreciated without the music.
Anton should get it if Bruce goes. He's a professional dancer and an all round good sport for the dance partners he's had to endure

I loved the show without Bruce last week, it flowed better and Tess wasnt annoying. I'd prefer to have Tess and Claudia.

I can't spend another season constantly shouting at the telly for him to "shut up".
He walked out into that Arena on Saturday night firmly believing that everyone was there to see him and repeat his boring catchphrases ad nauseam.
His ego is enormous, so he will never think it's time to go.

Don't worry about it. It's like David Cameron saying that one of his cabinet members has his full support, then within a couple of days said cabinet member has gone.
I reckon this is being put about as a hint from the BBC to Bruce that he's past it, so they can say it was his decision to go. In another article I read "a BBC spokesman" had said that Bruce is feeling the strain and is having trouble reading the autocue - another hint from the BBC to Bruce that it's time.
As for the replacement, we'll find out who the BBC (and only the BBC) have decided on when it happens and we'll just have to lump it or express our disapproval by not watching. Then Bruce's ego will say that viewing figures slumped because he was no longer in it.

I hope you're right Demelzer - my TV came within an inch of being trashed on Saturday with all the "look at these people" comments. For some reason they get to me the most. He has to go!! Don't care who replaces him.

That gets my vote.
Claudia is better in the post dance chat session, as she's quicker, wittier and more naturally warm.
Tess does front of house cleanly and efficiently, safely reading the autocue and not wasting time on bad jokes badly delivered - she could exert a little more control over the judges, but otherwise she was great.
We don't need Corbett or Barrowman, and God forbid that Anton gets anywhere near the microphone.

What about the poor partners having to endure him.
One of the most "delighted with himself" people it has been my misfortune to view on the tv. No way will he ever be given the presenting role, like his Latin dances, simply not good enough!
I used to think Anton would be an ideal presenter on SCD but now I'm not so sure.
His 'behind the scenes bits' last week weren't that good really. I do think it needs a professional.

That's the bit that gets to me too. I find myself shouting and swearing at the telly. I'm normally a very calm person. It's bizarre and not good for the blood pressure.

As long as it's Brucie that decides to leave I think Ronnie Corbett is an ideal replacement, I can't believe I never thought of that. Ronnie's a younger man with years still left in the tank and the last time he took over he was brilliant!
Anton is past his possible sell-by date in terms of getting the job - that's if he was ever a serious contender, which I doubt. When Bruce goes they need a complete change - not a Bruce lite which is really what Anton is. I would like Bradley Walsh or Graham Norton. Definitely not Vernon Kaye - I think that would be the end for me.
