Nicky's "Westlife" Support
I know this topic has been discussed in a number of different ways but did anyone else notice the roar Nicky received when Bruce did his "lifer or Westlifer?" joke?
It was interesting to see the instant feedback a reference like that got. Do we think Nicky has enough support (rightly or wrongly) to see him to the Final? |

In any other year I might have said yes, but this year there are several other dancers who could be considered to have a similarly large fanbase, e.g. Kimberley from Girls Aloud(and look what happened there!), plus Louis/Victoria (the Olympics factor).

i was surprised to see him last this long! i think Nicky has been a big let down for me as a westlife fan. he's had no enthusiasm at all and looked lazy. Its a shame good dancers have gone before him.

Even if Nicky falls over next week he will stay in, Westlife fans will panic vote for at least a few more weeks .

His days on the show are numbered as far as I'm concerned.
I think next week him and Kimberley are in danger. It's that time of the competition when those who don't make much of an impression start ending up in the bottom two. Say what you like about Victoria I always remember her performances and I reckon she's more popular with the voters than people on here would like to think. Same with Lisa, I wouldn't be surprised if she was topping the viewer votes each week. Nicky has been nowhere as good as expected, I actually think he hasn't progressed at all over the competition and his Jive was as far as I'm concerned one of the worst for someone so young and fit. As for the 'Westlife vote' I'm not sure it exists as much as Nicky would lead people to believe. Just in the same way that Kimberley doesn't have a 'Girls Aloud' vote. |

I'm afraid that Nicky can't dance for toffee, he's keeps throwing his cheesy crappy boy band poses every routine. Plus he has more than a whiff of diddy about him.

When I saw the Spoiler thread on Saturday night I was actually pleased with the final 2. Firstly Richard would go but also put an end to my fear that Nicky would win no matter what due to Westlife fan base. Suspect he will get saved next week now & Victoria will finally end up in the bottom 2. There is only so many times the public will dig her out especially as the nos. reduce fearing a better dancer will go. Nicky has to be at risk from the following week onwards.

He has poor technique and I find him smug. Think it will do him good being in the bottom 2.

I think the trouble from now on is that the dross has now gone from the show - including those who might have a loose/dodgy fan base. So from now on, for every crap dancer who escapes the dance off, one of the good ones will go. (A bit like Chris Maloney and the other one who I try to forget, keep surviving in XF - at the expense of good singers like Ella).
All the remaining 8 could have a big fanbase. Nicky - Westlifers Kimberley - Girls Aloud Nicky/Victoria - Olympian support and patriotic support Dani - Tracey Beaker/kids TV fans Denise - Essex fans Michael - sportsman fans Lisa - fun fun fun, Emmerdale/Lancashire fans.... Each week its going to come down on what dance each one is doing in relation to the other 7 or 6 or 5 etc... If Nicky gets a bottom 2 bounce as well as the Westlife fans panic voting, who is going to leave?? The judges obviously want their favourites, Denise, Lisa, and Kimble left in. The next worst 3, in my opinion, who should really lose out are Nicky, Kimberley (as she obviously doesnt have the fan base) and Victoria but whether that in fact happens is anyone's guess. Michael has some pretty shocking Latin dances coming up so he might lose out to one of the others. |

I think Nicky's got that huge fanbase, although as people above have said, so will many of the other contestants left.
But I think it's getting to the stage of the competition where the good people are starting to go and there really has to be huge improvement, progress or skill involved. And as much as I love Nicky, I think it's getting to the point where it's his time to go soon. He's made huge progress to get as far as this, so that's not to take away from his achievement, but there are others who deserve a place in the later stages more. I am a huge Westlife fan, have loved them since I was 12, so 11 years now, but I haven't voted at all.

I think Nicky will go next week - he has improved considerably, but that's not saying much considering his first two routines, and there were a lot of problems with that jive. The point of the competition where everybody, including the public, takes it a bit more seriously is coming up. Unless this week's dance really is a huge breakthrough he is likely to stay in the bottom two, and with Victoria likely on ballroom again that probably means he will be in trouble whoever he is up against.

In cumulative judge points Nicky is level with Victoria at the bottom on 173. However, unlike Victoria he has not scored below 25 since week 3, where Victoria's points (like Michael's) go up and down depending on dance style.

A better job if he had worn proper dance shoes. I would challenge anyone not to look flatfooted in those things. Having said that he does not seem to have the fanbase everyone expected him to have and he certainly has few friends on this forum. I love his dancing in spite of the faults. I find him more exciting to watch than the like of Louis or Denise. However he really has to impress the judges this week or gopher will be out. |
