Doesn't that go without saying though? Syed's legally/biologically her dad but Christian has been there for her in all the same ways as Syed- moreso, in the past few weeks- and she calls him 'Daddy'? It's canon that Syed considers Christian an equal parent.

Hmm I'm thinking Chryed will stay in Florida until the New Year, Jane will lend them some money to get a deposit on a flat in Brum and they'll move back early Jan.

I LOVE that version of The Power Of Love, I was listening to it all day yesterday and the day before and then had to make into a vid! Youtube threatened to ban me the other day for uploading my vid that I made for the con... needless to say I deleted the vid again pretty quickly! I don't know why they make such a big fuss out of copyrighting music, it's not like I'm pretending the songs are my own :sleep: I'm advertising their music if anything!

Obviously everyone is too busy and important to watch the episode judging from all of the posts we've had since half past.

Now if you don't mind I'm going to go and watch the grass grow. In the middle of winter. In the dark. And if I get bored of that I'm sure there was some paint drying somewhere that needed watching. :sleep:

This Lauren and Joey storyline is dreadful. she's just dragged him down an alleyway. they have no chemistry.

I REALLY like Ava so far though and she's only been in one scene!

My dad wanted to watch the football and I almost started arguing with him since I'm so used to wanting to watch EE before realising that today, I don't And I don't actually feel I missed anything at all!

MQ fight! Such banter and wit haven't been seen since. Still laugh when i rewatch!

2. Favourite scene that gave you warm fuzzies/made you go 'aw, that was nice':

First scene of DC week. Both are just completely free and at ease with each other. Love Syed's 'drunk on love expression' at the end.

3. Favourite scene that turned even the hardest, cold-hearted, cynical old grump into a melting puddle of squee. (And if you're already inclined towards the squeeing, the scene that made you squee so hard the neighbours thought a cat was being tortured.):

Erm, the wedding ceremony Christian's lines were cheesy but they did feel in character for him. Johnny and Marc's little touches and looks added so much. In that moment i really felt their true feelings for one another. (lets ignore the whole Danny thing :sleep

Christian and Syed's argument over Ben and Amira. (10th Nov. 2011)

God, just one?! It'd probably have to be Syed and Christian's talk about adoption in the cafe (the one with Amy and the group of teenagers). I hate Christian's sausage line. In fact i hate all of Christian's dialogue. Or maybe it's just the fact that i disliked most of the adoption stuff. *runs*

There's literally not one positive post in the thread...except for the Chryedians who went over to say they loved the ep!

I sort of got confused about why I was arguing Apparently 'step parents can be just as involved and love the child just as much' - er, I know? But Christian is regarded as her dad, it's what he's called. I wouldn't have found it a problem if it was canon that Yasmin called him by his name and he was referred to as the stepdad, but like you say, that's not canon.
I don't see why people find it a problem that Christian is seen as her dad too anyway. He's not replacing Syed's role, he's sharing it. And he's not replacing Amira's role either. They all care for her and want the best for her so idk what the problem is :sleep:

I think the problem is that some people expected Christian to be at best disinterested and at worst resentful and jealous of Yasmin, so when he turned out be so loving and caring towards her and actually enjoyed spending time with her, people had to have a go at him for caring too much Only on DS...:sleep:

Yeah, there's something very weird going on with the pacing in EE - it's like half their own storylines are coming as a surprise to them! They decide that Joey and Lauren must declare mutal undying love and try to run away together in Week 47, but don't seem to start thinking about building up to it until Week 45?! Oh well, maybe things will settle down a bit once the new team's been in place for longer.

Adore Chryed's first two ILYs so much because the build up to them was perfect - the audience knew they were in love because we could see it, but it took them months longer to say it.

I totally get maybe not being keen on it because of the context, but to loathe it is a bit strong isn't it? It's still aesthetically pleasing if anything!

It's a bit odd. And mega rushed - how is anyone supposed to believe in their 'love' if they never gave each other a second glance before a week or two ago?

And yeah, that's exactly why it worked. We were waiting for them to say it because we knew it, and they knew it too. So it felt real and genuine.

I think they were pointing out that Amira called Christian 'Uncle Christian' and that's probably a sign by the writers that Amira will firmly install this in Yasmin, regardless of what Yasmin calls him now. At the same time - married or not - Amira's new husband should also be called 'uncle' if Yasmin's surname remains 'Masood' when she goes to school.

I think what I was trying to point out, is that Christian might save himself some pain in the future, if he acknowledges NOW that Yasmin will probably regard Syed as her 'dad' when she gets older and is talking to her friends ( away from the home environment ) and Christian and Amira's new husband by their first names. She'll need different names for her 4 parents when talking about them and it's not appropriate for her to call Syed 'Syed' or Amira 'Amira' but it's less of a problem for her call Christian and Amira's new husband by their first name.

It doesn't diminish Christian and Yasmin's love and respect for one another or Christian's role in Yasmin's life but at the same time, neither Christian or Amira's new husband should run away from the fact that Syed is her father because her surname will always be 'Masood' and I don't think it's wrong for Syed to be the one called 'dad' when push comes to shove.

I know it's not popular to say this but Amira is only doing what most bio parents do when new partners are involved.
