So not SCD! Well done Johnny. That was a surprise! Most particularly because wasn't he on the AT show recently having a go at musical revivals and wanting to give new shows a chance in the west end? Or was it just Top Hat I can't remember. I remember the Top Hat bit mainly because I loved Tom Chambers story of doing strictly and then getting to be 'Fred' on stage.Anyway great musical good luck to Johnny I'm sure he'll be great! And it's all employment for loads of people, whether it's old or new.

I felt sad too after watching TM.
Marc had waited around so long for screen time, then when he had decided to move on, Syed's exit story was a full on character assassination. What a way to treat an actor who has always been a credit to EE. I hope Marc has a long and successful career ahead of him.

Sadly I think the Piper kiss/surrogacy was the start of the end for Chryed too: in terms of quality of storylines, characterisation and screen time. There were some lovely scenes and occasionally great ep's, but it was never quite the same again.
I have not watched any classic Chryed for a while, but hope to have a re watch soon.

And also because nearly all the plots at the moment are awful (Joey/Lauren ridiculous ily after a week, Kat shagging a shadow, social services give a dangerous criminal someone else's baby, moronic Branning brothers, no one caring that Ian had a breakdown and his apparent sudden recovery, Lucy turning into a simpering drip who would beg some annoying bloke to stay with her, Titney dullness ruining Whitney's character, Kim never being given a story of any substance, Denise never being given a story, Sharon pretending to be engaged to Phil making me wish she had never come back.) Cora's story with Ava, the Masood's, Roxy and Fatboy are the only things I care about any more but that's not enough to keep me watching.
And I feel sad saying this because I've watched EE since I was seven! I took breaks at times because of things going on in real life like illness, exams etc but I never stopped watching because the show was bad before. And it's bizarre because the actors are generally all really good and the writing can be really good but the stories are just mainly all....terrible. I'm so so so sooooo glad Chryed are free from EE now!

Stayed away from sales today. Second year I've not gone out on Black Friday. Last year, I was still in a knee brace and didn't want to risk getting knocked down by overzealous shoppers. This year, we've decided to exchange gift cards and "small" things. Since none of us *need* anything and we are trying to get rid of some stuff, gift cards are easier. Actually, I might suggest we adopt a family. Every year organizations like the Salvation Army have Angel trees where families who are in need of help write their wishes on Angels and others buy the items for them and the parents can give them to their children. We adopted a family one year and their wishes were things like hat and gloves. We bought them hats, and gloves and then several other items. We might have gone a tad overboard, but when the list doesn't have anything "fun" on it, you tend to get carried away
Last year I bought a coat for a child and a few toys for the Marines Toys for Tots program. That's funny

Also, I 'unlike' the official BBC EE group on my FB page so it no longer shown as one of my fav shows. I know it's a little thing but I'm glad I've done that. (ee has really disappointed over me recent years).

I know, fab. news for him! I guess this must've been the thing he was talking about in the LW interview, the thing that was "an obvious choice for me, but within that not an obvious choice". He'll be absolutely great I suspect. Hope there'll be news about Marc and work in the not so distant future. The man deserves a nice long break for sure, but it would be so great to hear about him getting good work and being appreciated. The b***h in me will be SO filled with glee when that happens and mentally I'll laugh so hard at the PTB of EE... Bwahahahahahahahaha... :sleep: Not so great news for all of your bank accounts, though, but *meeh*

ooooh I don't think I saw this first ep - Tam being all dismissive and distant but caring really, pleased to see him. In hindsight you can read Syed's loneliness and desperation to be forgiven and a part of everything again
