Hi Lyra

It's always lovely to catch up on the thread and find your fic - Thank you

BIB: Yeah - I have and I haven't: I find I don't think too much about them anymore (I used to make up little stories about them on the train on my way to work - but nothing now but when I come on here, I still feel fed up with the ending. I wish they had just gone in March 2012 when the story had been wrapped up in that one ep. I feel like Columbo - I'm still trying to figure out the loose ends. Anyway, back to work..”
Hi, I know what you mean, I don't really think of Chryed much now apart from when I catch up on the thread and read the new fanfic. But I still cannot completely get my head around the exit story: the ridiculous inconsistencies from one ep to the next still bugs me for some strange reason

Particularly, Syed - he became mute under BK - why??? I knew that was a big issue, but, boy, it is so striking when you look back. There is no dynamic when one character never states his pov - he did before, why did BK lose that? I felt that Chryed were always going to be a passionate couple, lots of arguments, lots of making up - BK seemed to see them as a quiet, cosy couple - he reserved the 'sparks' for Max and Tanya, IMO. I didn't like that. And, as Syed, as a character, was assassinated in the last few months, I feel Christian had a slow decline. He lost his edge, became obsessed with children. I could understand him wanting to settle with a partner (that's where he was heading when he met Syed - he needed to be heading that way for him falling in love with Syed to be believable) but the obsession with children at any cost was too much - I lived with it, but in hindsight, it was not good. I would have preferred him struggling with settling with Syed's child a bit - see a bit of the old Christian rebelling against the nuclear family - also, that was the 'Christian' Syed fell in love with. There needed to be some 'drama' and Christian's edginess with Syed's 'conservativeness' could have served that better, perhaps.”
Great posts from you and KatrinaK about both Chryed and EE
I wanted to to re-watch the whole story before taking part in Dessie's survey, but still cannot bring myself to watch anything but the last ep. I am not ready to be confronted with the contrast of classic Chryed to the one dimensional characters they become under BK. Knowing that the chance of that quality of storytelling returning for Chryed is lost forever now- before there was always a little hope.
It never was explained why Christian suddenly needed to become a father so much, that he became blind not only to Syed's feelings but also Roxy's too ( the two most important people in the world to him).

Looking back now, I would have preferred if Chryed had left after DC week, even if that meant we never got the bed scene, ABRC or the Masoods making peace with Chryed

It was such a waste of a great actor, poor Marc

But hopefully we will hear news of his next project soon
Sorry, I don't know if anyone went to see Marc yesterday.
